Ethan Page hilariously reveals his initial reaction to WWE’s intriguing job offer call

Last year, former AEW wrestler Ethan Page caught fans off guard with his move to WWE. Page revealed that when he first received a call from WWE offering him a contract, he was so surprised that he ended the call, thinking it was a prank.

Page explained in an interview with Chris Van Vliet that the process happened quickly, within a week or two. He was traveling between events—from Winnipeg to Detroit and then driving to Ohio—when WWE first called. The initial call got disconnected, and when they called again, Page wasn’t sure if it was real. WWE confirmed their offer, which he found unbelievable at first.

Page’s WWE contract was reportedly finalized within a week after he debuted on NXT in late May 2024. He also made a secret visit to the WWE Performance Center. Over the following months, Page captured the NXT Championship by defeating Williams and held the title for 86 days. As of May 27, 2024, he is the current NXT North American Champion after winning against former AEW star Ricky Starks.

Before joining WWE, Page spent three years wrestling with AEW and Ring of Honor, with his last appearance airing on HonorClub’s ROH show in February 2024.

Fan Take: Ethan Page’s swift transition from AEW to WWE and his rapid success highlight the growing cross-pollination between wrestling promotions that fans eagerly embrace. His rise in NXT adds fresh excitement and promising storylines for WWE followers, signaling bigger things ahead for the brand and the sport as a whole.
