Following WWE’s acquisition of AAA, there has been buzz about AAA wrestlers potentially joining WWE. Recent reports suggested that Octagon Jr. has inked a deal with WWE, but Konnan has dismissed these claims.

During a discussion on the Keepin’ IT 100 podcast, Konnan addressed a report from BodySlam.net, which stated that Octagon Jr. had signed with WWE after his appearance at Worlds Collide. When asked directly, Octagon Jr. told Konnan that he had not signed any contract.

“Yeah, the only person I asked was Octagon, and he basically said no,” Konnan clarified.

Disco Inferno further pressed Konnan on whether Octagon Jr. confirmed he hadn’t signed, to which Konnan reiterated, “Yeah, he told you no.” Konnan affirmed that he was being truthful about his inquiry with Octagon.

This clarification follows Cassidy Hays’ report on Bodyslam.net indicating Octagon Jr. had signed a contract with WWE. The report claimed he was finishing up his commitments with AAA before officially starting with WWE and mentioned that he would no longer take independent wrestling bookings as he prepares for a full-time role.

With WWE’s desire to expand its roster with international talent, it’s plausible they may still pursue Octagon Jr. or other AAA wrestlers. For now, Konnan asserts that Octagon Jr. has yet to sign with WWE, leaving the door open for potential changes in the future.

What’s your opinion on Konnan disputing this signing rumor? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
