WWE is kicking off an Atlanta takeover with the “WWE NXT” Great American Bash event, happening at Center Stage on Saturday afternoon. The show will feature five matches, with three championship bouts included.
Jasper Troy, the winner of “WWE LFG” season 1, will make his official premium live event debut against Je’von Evans after failing to win against NXT champion Oba Femi. Evans recently acknowledged Troy’s efforts in tracking the title but asserted that his own presence shouldn’t be overshadowed. Their rivalry has escalated with ongoing confrontations in “NXT,” and the Great American Bash provides a decisive platform for them to settle their feud.
NXT champion Oba Femi will defend his title against Yoshiki Inamura, a regular on “NXT” thanks to a promotional partnership, although he still wrestles for Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan. Inamura recently pinned TNA World Champion Trick Williams but instead of challenging for that title, he offered the shot to his tag partner Josh Briggs.
In another match, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page will face Ricky Starks in a rematch from their May 27 encounter, where Page claimed the title and left Starks frustrated. Since then, Starks has been eager for a chance to reclaim the championship and earned his opportunity by overcoming the Vanity Project in a Gauntlet Match.
NXT Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca will defend her title against Izzy Dame, who has found a new alliance with Tatum Paxley while Ruca enters the match with support from Zaria. Following this, “NXT” GM Ava issued Dame a solo title shot against Ruca.
The event concludes with a star-studded tag match featuring Fallon Henley and Jacy Jayne (formerly Mariah May) against Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe (making her WWE TV debut after joining last month). This match also sets the stage for WWE Evolution the next night, where Grace will challenge Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship.
