Josh Matthews Set to Feature on AEW All In: Zero Hour Preshow

2 Min Read

Josh Matthews, formerly known for his roles in WWE and TNA wrestling, made his debut appearance on AEW television during the Texas Zero Hour show. Matthews joined the panel alongside host Renee Puckett, Paul Wight, Jeff Jarrett, and RJ City, where he shared his thoughts on the event’s matches and introduced a pre-recorded interview featuring Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland.

Back in May, Pwinsider revealed that Matthews had been working behind the scenes at AEW and Ring of Honor. He later confirmed that he serves as the vice president under Mike Mansuri, overseeing AEW’s post-production and assisting with ROH tapings. Before his AEW tenure, Matthews spent many years as a WWE announcer and interviewer and held various on-screen and backstage roles in TNA Wrestling until his departure in February 2025.

The interview segment Matthews hosted highlighted a high-stakes match involving Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland against Top Flight. The match carries significant consequences: if Ospreay and Strickland lose, they will be barred from challenging for the AEW World Championships for a year. Conversely, a victory for them would result in Matthew and Nicholas Jackson losing their executive vice president titles in AEW.

Fan Take: Matthews’ transition from WWE and TNA to a key AEW role signals a fresh wave of experienced talent influencing AEW’s landscape. This high-stakes storyline adds real tension and could reshape AEW’s championship scene, making it a must-watch moment for fans invested in the sport’s evolving narrative.
