Triple H Announces Evolution’s Shift to an Annual Pay-Per-View Event

Triple H is uncertain about the future direction of the Evolution brand.

WWE hosted an event from State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, marking seven years since the first PPV under the Evolution banner. The female wrestlers gave outstanding performances, reinforcing why women in wrestling deserve just as much recognition as their male counterparts.

During the Sovolution Post Show, Triple H was asked if fans could expect annual all-women PPVs moving forward. WWE’s Chief Content Officer was cautious, stating that the brand’s future depends on audience demand.

“We can have a night where they can come together and celebrate it, and I think it worked out here tonight, we’ll move on. I think we’re looking at what the demand for that is. As women’s demand grows all over the place every day, it’s not about having their own show, but because it’s equal. They don’t have to have their show to get into the spotlight. But if that goes well, we will definitely go that path again,” he explained.

After the show, former WWE champion Big E shared that watching the PPV almost brought him to tears and expressed hope that it wouldn’t be another seven years before the event is held again.

One of the standout moments of Evolution 2 was Trish Stratus receiving a standing ovation for her performance. You can read more about what she shared regarding her wrestling future.

Fan Take: This update is significant for WWE fans because it highlights the growing presence and respect for women’s wrestling, signaling a potential shift in how WWE approaches female talent. If the demand continues to rise, it could mean more high-profile opportunities and greater equality for women in the sport.
