During an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show on Wednesday, Rollins was asked about Punk’s victory. He expressed eagerness to watch Gunther defeat his longtime rival in the ring.
Rollins said, “Good question: CM Punk earned his win fair and square in Monday’s Gauntlet match. That’s great for him. I fully expect Gunther to turn him into ground beef, and I’m excited to watch it all from my living room.”
Seth Rollins also mentioned that his wife, Becky Lynch, will be on the show, so he might witness Punk’s defeat live at the arena. The former world champion also shared his thoughts on Punk, stating that no matter the circumstances, he doesn’t see himself being friends with Punk.
He added, “My feelings about CM Punk are pretty clear. I don’t like the guy, never have, and probably never will. I’m not someone who likes to deal with negativity—it drains a lot of energy. I prefer to focus my energy on positive things and people I genuinely like. I think Punk falls on the other side of that line. Others might have had rough experiences but moved past them; not me, not with the old Phil Brooks.”
