Tony Kahn Thought He Secured an AEW Contract for the Ex-CMLL World Heavyweight Champion

In recent months, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has expanded its roster with talents like “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Joshu Alexander, Kevin Knight, Tekra, and Alex Windsor. Now, according to Lucha News expert Luchablog, this growth may continue with the addition of the former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion, Hechicero. A Reddit user, ODD_EXAMINATION2743, revealed that Hechicero has signed contracts with AEW, a claim later supported by multiple sources through Luchablog. Reports suggest Hechicero has inked a dual contract with both AEW and CMLL, formalized around AEW’s Grand Slam event in Mexico, although the deal has faced private delays. Neither AEW President Tony Khan nor CMLL have officially confirmed the signing yet.

Hechicero is expected to remain active in CMLL, where he resides and holds a former CMLL World Trio Championship. In AEW, he has joined the Don Caris family after abandoning his former allies Ultimo Guerrero and Averno in June. He made his official AEW debut teaming with Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita, and Rocky Romero at a CMLL MARTES Plata event. More recently on AEW Dynamite, Hechicero teamed up with Joshu Alexander and the Young Bucks to secure a victory over Brody King, Bandido, Knight, and Bailey. However, shortly after, Hechicero’s faction, Don Charis, suffered a loss to Big Boom AJ and Conglomerate in the AEW Preshow.

Fan Take: This potential signing signals AEW’s ongoing commitment to integrating top international talent, boosting its global appeal and competitive edge. For fans, Hechicero’s presence could bring fresh dynamics and exciting matches, enriching AEW’s in-ring storytelling and overall wrestling landscape.
