AEW star Brian Danielson has not competed in a wrestling match since October 2024. Recently, he shared that his attention has shifted away from wrestling as he is currently training to become a volunteer firefighter in his local community.

During a talk at the Starcast stage show, Danielson discussed his reasons for this new path, emphasizing his desire to contribute to fighting bushfires in his area. “One of the big needs in my community is help with bushfires, so I’m training to become a volunteer firefighter,” he explained. “This is my way of serving my community and finding something meaningful and productive to do with my life.”

Known as “The American Dragon,” Danielson hasn’t participated in official matches since last October’s Wrestled Reader Pay-Per-View. While prioritizing his family, he did make some television appearances for AEW and ROH during his break.

He made a surprising non-wrestling appearance at a Texas pay-per-view on July 12th, where he, masked, disrupted the main event by attacking “Hangman” Adam Page and members of the Death Rider faction. This unexpected cameo sparked fan speculation that he might be planning a full return to wrestling.

Fan Take: This update is significant for AEW fans because it shows that Danielson is finding balance between his passions both inside and outside the ring, which could bring fresh energy to his wrestling persona. His surprising reappearance hints at the possibility of an exciting comeback, which could greatly impact AEW storylines and bring renewed excitement to the sport.
