Daniel Cormier Reveals Brock Lesnar Has Been Blacklisted by WWE

3 Min Read

Former UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has made bold statements regarding Brock Lesnar’s current status in WWE, revealing that Lesnar is reportedly on a “banned list” that restricts his return to wrestling.

During an appearance on Demetrious Johnson’s “Mightycast” show, Cormier was questioned about the chance of facing Lesnar inside the WWE ring.

Cormier said, “So, Block is now on the ban list. Block got really into trouble. They don’t broadcast what Block did. Block is very trouble.”

Although he didn’t specify which organizations enforce this “banned list,” Lesnar has not appeared in WWE since Summerslam 2023. His absence coincides with a federal lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant against Vince McMahon. In an updated complaint from February 2025, Lesnar was named, with allegations that McMahon tried to provide traffic subsidies to Lesnar during contract talks in 2021.

Cormier reiterated, “Block is now on a banned list. Block has been in so many troubles. They don’t broadcast what Block did. Block is in very trouble.”

Additionally, Cormier explained why a highly anticipated UFC fight between him and Lesnar didn’t transpire after their heated confrontation at UFC 226 in 2018.

“Brock played us,” Cormier said. “WWE paid him to stay longer. We went back and forth… They paid him heavily to stay. He stayed, did his part, but just avoided fighting me in the octagon, so now I want to give him a shot.”

After Grant’s lawsuit in January 2024, WWE quickly removed Lesnar from the lineup for a scheduled Royal Rumble return, leading to speculation among insiders that Lesnar might be waiting for the legal matters to be resolved before coming back.
