According to a Wrestlenomics report based on public records, the city’s Tourism Marketing District (TMD) has approved an initial payment of $650,000 to secure the event for San Diego. Additionally, the San Diego Padres, whose Petco Park will host the event, have proposed a separate budget of $4.25 million for other related expenses, bringing the total projected budget to $5 million. It is unclear how much of this total WWE will directly receive.
These site fees, around $5 million, are comparable to some of WWE’s largest events like WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas and the upcoming SummerSlam in New Jersey. The report also highlights the significant economic benefit expected for the city, projecting the event to generate 18,000 hotel room nights and approximately $3.6 million in revenue on its own. Furthermore, it is expected that Friday night SmackDown and Monday night live broadcasts will also take place in San Diego during this period.
The Survivor Series is set for Saturday, November 29th at Petco Park. In recent years, the event has prominently featured the popular WarGames Match format as its main attraction.
