The tag team of Grayson Waller and Austin Theory, known as A-Town Down Under, has officially come to an end. On Monday night’s episode of Raw in Houston, Texas, Waller announced that the team was “done” following an injury to Theory.
In a backstage segment aired during the show, Grayson Waller spoke with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of the New Day. He revealed that he is searching for a new partner as his partnership with Austin Theory is ending. Waller candidly stated that A-Town Down Under is “finished” and that he intends to “move forward” due to Theory’s injury.
This split brings a sudden conclusion to the former WWE Tag Team Champions. Their last match together took place on the June 23 episode of WWE Main Event. Austin Theory’s most recent match was a singles loss to El Grande American on the July 14 episode of WWE Main Event.
The dissolution of this team comes amid growing competition in the Raw Tag Team Division as they gear up for SummerSlam. Tonight, the New Day, Creed Brothers, and LWO will face off in a triple threat match to determine the next challengers for the World Tag Team Championship, currently held by Finballore and JD McDonna of Judgment Day.
Fan Take: This split shakes up the tag team landscape on Raw just as the rivalry for SummerSlam intensifies, opening up opportunities for new alliances and fresh storylines. For WWE fans, it signals exciting changes ahead and keeps the tag team division unpredictable and engaging.
