AEW star Brian Danielson has revealed that his famous main event win at WWE WrestleMania 30 felt “not much of a point” to him personally. In a recent interview with SunSport, he opened up about the emotional and physical challenges he faced during what many fans consider one of WrestleMania’s most memorable moments.
Danielson explained that behind the scenes, personal issues made the experience harder for him. Although some family members were allowed to join him in the ring after his victory, his wife, Brie Bella, was not permitted to come. He shared, “My sister and my niece started to come to the ring. But I was about to marry my wife the following Friday, yet she wasn’t allowed to be there.”
Besides the emotional strain, Danielson was also suffering from severe physical pain at the time, which diminished his sense of achievement. He highlighted how the reality of performers’ lives—dealing with injuries and personal struggles—is often very different from what fans see on screen.
He said, “These moments that look great to the audience are often accompanied by neck pain and many other difficulties happening in the lives of wrestlers.”
Now in a different chapter of his life, Danielson is focusing on family and community. He is currently on an extended break from wrestling and is training to become a volunteer firefighter. Although he made surprise appearances at AEW pay-per-view events, he has confirmed he is not ready for a full-time comeback to the ring just yet.
Fan Take: This candid insight into Danielson’s WrestleMania experience reminds WWE fans that even historic moments can come with unseen sacrifices. It highlights the physical and emotional toll wrestlers endure, adding a deeper appreciation for the sport and the people who perform it.
