Cody Rhodes has openly admitted that he was nearly asleep during the WWE Hall of Fame event. Speaking with Katie Nolan on Casual, Rhodes shared that although he believes he loves wrestling more than anyone else, it can still be very challenging. He noted that Hall of Fame shows often move slowly, and he sometimes feels extremely nervous or scared about performing live on television.
The “American Nightmare” mentioned that some nights are just tough. Even when watching his favorite wrestlers speak, he sometimes feels so exhausted that he nearly falls asleep, even from a front-row seat. For Rhodes, the emotions he experiences—passion, pressure, and fatigue—are all genuine.
He said, “I love wrestling. I feel like I love wrestling more than anyone on the planet. Yes, but sometimes the Hall of Fame is late at night. Sometimes I’m scared to death because I’m scared of what I’m doing on TV.”
This confession came after Booker T was caught dozing off during this year’s WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, drawing some ridicule. Fatigue is a very real issue, and hopefully, WWE will keep Hall of Fame ceremonies shorter in the future.
