Team 3D is set to reunite for one final showdown on the veranda, following the storyline established at Slammiversary. D-Von Dudley has confirmed that if he participates in another match, it will be his last. In a recent interview, the TNA Hall of Famer discussed his health and explained why he believes Hardy is the ideal opponent for this farewell bout.

The stage for this iconic final match was set at the TNA Slammiversary Pay-Per-View event this Sunday. After the Hardy Boys won the chaotic four-way ladder match to become the new TNA World Tag Team Champions, they issued a challenge for a final match against Team 3D at the grand event on October 12th.

D-Von Dudley Declares His Last Match
During a recent episode of Insight with Chris Van Vriette, D-Von Dudley stated that this upcoming match would be a one-time event and mark the definitive end of his wrestling career. It’s worth noting this interview was conducted before the Surami Bursary.
“If I wrestle again, it will be my last match, and that’s final,” D-Von explained. “Can I return afterward? No. Tell everyone this when they ask — every time I say it’s my last match, fans say, ‘You guys look great, you can keep going.’ But no, stop.”

Health and Trust in Hardy
Despite having suffered a stroke in 2020 and undergoing spinal surgery in 2022, D-Von emphasized that his health wouldn’t hold him back from returning to the ring. He mentioned that training students at his wrestling school keeps him in good shape and called Hardy the only opponent he trusts for his farewell match.
“If I’m going to wrestle again, it has to be with Matt and Jeff,” D-Von stated. “They are the only two I trust with my body on the line. Jeff might be a bit wild [laughs], but they’re the only ones I trust.”
