AEW Dynamite Results (7/23/2025): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show begins with Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone unveiling some breaking news about the AEW World Tag team title Eliminator Tournament, and some breaking news that begins with FTR and JetSpeed tonight. The comments also explain tonight’s match, where “Hangman” Adam Page is set to wrestler Wheeler Yuta to start the show.

After that, we head backwards. So I heard this from AEW world champion “Hangman” Adam Page. Adam Page promises revenge for what Death Rider did to Colt Cabana before MJF interrupts. MJF says he plans to break the title page without using the contracts he earned from the casino gauntlet match. Page says he’s not appearing in the title match and has the courage to use a contract or get a shot if MJF wants a shot and don’t do either. Page then heads to ringside for the first match of the night, but is blinded by Wheeler Utah.

Non-title match: Wheeler Utah of Death Rider vs. AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page

The match begins with Page fighting back and successfully sending Utah out of the ring due to a hard shot against the barricade. He then returns Utah to the ring and sends him to the corner for a fallen slam, causing more damage. The page then sends Utah to the other side, simply take the boots from Utah, and is dropped onto the mat with the Death Valley driver, and the page is two counts. Utah then uses a rope to block the dead, and he bites from the page.

The winner of the non-title match, AEW world champion “Hangman” Adam Page!

After the match, Page grabs the chain he brought with him to return to the attack, so it’s far from the end. He then slams a chain into Utah’s head, threatens to suffocate him with the ropes, and lets go without further damage, screaming that the Death Rider hasn’t come to save him. “He deserves it” Chants begins when Page leaves the ring with his title. Utah stares at him from the ring as the music on the page hits him.

Comments then talk about Claudio Castagnoli, who is facing Mark Briscoe late tonight. Athena and Billy Stark then talk about the iconic “Athena Elite Wrestling.” They also talk about taking out “timeless” Tony Storm late tonight ahead of Athena, who tries to win a shot and a promising Storm with her aim to see her film end.

The FTR then heads to the ring for the next match in the evening. Let’s take a look at COPE, which we promise to take them out. Jetspeed then heads to the ring.

AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament Quarterfinal Round Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax “The Axe” Harwood) vs. Jetspeed (“The Jet” Kevin Knight and “Speedball” Mike Bailey)

The match begins before FTR gets a jump on Jetspeed before knocking out the Knight to focus on Mike Bailey. Bailey then blocks the grinder and acquires a fall near Harwood. Cash then rushes in, but is taken to Bailey and Knight before Bailey counts two German suppressxes at Harwood. The FTR then ends up on the outside, Jet Speed hit a double dive, and Bailey could have landed awkwardly on the floor.

The FTR then brings Bailey back into the ring and turns things around as Harwood lays on the speedball in the corner. Bailey then fights back, leading to a two-human strike deal until Harwood sends the speedball to the ropes for a shoulder tackle. They then return to the outside as Harwood is looking for a pile driver, but Bailey just hits Harwood and Wheeler’s back drop.

Harwood also takes Wheeler to the canvas, and is sent to the mat by Knight from the turnbuckle. Jetspeed then hits the FTR with a few missile dropkicks, and the pendulum DDT leads to autumn near the knight. Bailey then hits Wheeler outside with a moonsaw as Knight hits a splash on Harwood for two more counts. Harwood then heads to the ropes as the Knight pursues, but sends him hard just to hit with the Dragon’s screw-leg whip. After that, Harwood continues to target his feet now, pulling the knight towards the ring post, chuckling the fans, slamming the knight’s feet into the post. He then sets up the figure 4 against the ring post until Bailey runs up with a few kicks to break the hold. Wheeler comes to remove the speedball from the equation, like Harwood brings the Knight into the ring.

Harwood then fights back for the sharp shooter in the ring, and Wheeler locks one into Bailey outside, but Knight reaches the ropes and forces him to rest. Harwood then sends him to the corner. Harwood then hits a superplex, and Wheeler hits a splash, but Knight lifts his knees. Bailey then keeps Wheeler at bay as Knight goes to the cover, but Harwood kicks out for two. Bailey is a legal man now as he gets a count of two on Harwood. He then takes Harwood to the ropes, but is intercepted by Wheeler, an apron. Both men then fight it until Bailey takes out both FTRs with the springboard manipulation. Harwood returns to the ring for Bailey to press the shooting star, but Harwood dodges it. The speedball then hits the shooting star stomp for two counts.

A tag is then created when Knight lifts Harwood over his shoulder, and Knight hits an elevated dropkick to send Harwood out hard. After that, the Knight goes to the cover, but only gets two counts. The action then spills outwards. There, Bailey launches himself over the barricade towards Wheeler as Harwood avoids the cradle and the fall splash nearby. Powerbomb is then turned over to Hurricane Lana by Knight, but Harwood is kicked out. Harwood then hits Bailey with a Pamming Pamming, but Knight is in the near fall instead. Harwood then rolls him up and assists crutches from Stokeley for the victory.

AEW World Tag Team Title Eliminator Tournament Coltiorfinal Round Match, FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax “The Axe” Harwood) winner!

After the match, we’ll look at the brackets for tournaments where there are continuous conflicts. As the crowd begins to boo, Tony Ciaborne is in the ring with FTR and Stokeley. Schiavone spoke about what Cope said last week, as Stokely said Adam Copeland should be in prison. Stokeley then says last week that there was no business to put his hands on him, and says Copeland is a scary person and a loser. Stokely says that Cope is cancer for AEW and it doesn’t matter what everyone is saying. Cope’s music is a hit and he makes his way. Cope holds the microphone in his hand as he begins to walk the ramp. Stokely then asks for Cope’s music to be cut, but the crowd sings a bit after it’s over.

Stokely reminds Cope that he can’t get close to the FTR, and Cope says he’s forgotten about it. Cope says he has signed a business contract with a gentleman and they are willing to come to the ring to do what he can’t. Coop reveals that the business of the men he enlisted in hurts people. Hurt Syndicate’s music will be a hit, featuring Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP. The MVP then waves Coop’s hand, with Benjamin and Lashley delivering their right hand to Wheeler and Harwood. Security and other officials then run to the ring and try to separate all four men, but fail to do so. Lashley then sends Wheeler to crash into one of the barricades, but security ultimately breaks things down. Inside the ring, the coop appears to spear with Stokeley. Stokeley then moves out of the way and accidentally deals with the security guard. Stokeley escapes the ring as Coop’s music plays.

After that, we head backwards. There, patriarchy says that the promises are broken and Nick Wayne promises to prove himself in a conflict, showing what they look like when they are not decorated.

Then you’ll see Will Osprey walking through the backstage area as you’re hearing from him.

He then gets a vignette from John Moxley. John Moxley paid tribute to “Hangman” Adam Page and did what he did to win the title in Texas. Moxley then says that avoiding the rematch isn’t what the page is and promises to fix things in some way. Moxley then says he saw the page on it all. But Texas will soon see who the page actually is. Marina Shafir then makes some controversial comments.

Tony Ciaborne then welcomes Will Osprey and tackles the match he had with the damage caused by Texas and Death Rider. Osprey says Tony Kahn didn’t know he was there when he flew. Osprey has since dealt with neck issues for over 10 months and says he was not on the level of the medical team at all. Ospreay then apologizes for hiding this, but he says he wants to pass us to the finish line. Ospreay then talks about the sacrifice and the fact that they managed to get the title back, but what the Death Rider did, he rushes to the hospital room for an MRI. Ospreay then says he discovered the problem with two of his vertebrae, but the doctor says it is treatable and hopes it will be made in time for the prohibited day. Ospreay thanked Swerve for his help at Texas, congratulated Pages on winning the title, and reminded him that he wanted that rematch soon. Osprey can look at the Death Rider, so he will soon follow them. Ospreay’s music leads the lamp and embraces it in Swerve, waiting for him on stage.

They then get a video package to watch Julia Hart, Sky Blue and Tekra and wreaking havoc in the women’s division of AEW by forming what they call the “triangle of horror.”

After that, we head backwards. There we hear from Willow Nightingale, who is trying to focus after dealing with the death rider. Nightingale then challenges The Kla.

We then look back at The Hurt Syndicate, chasing FTR as a bit of business from Adam Copeland, leading to a spear from Cope to security guards. Afterwards, he hears from the injured syndicate before MJF interrupts and wants to know why they’re Cope’s mate now and why he didn’t help deal with Hangman. The MVP then says that it’s a business deal before Lashley rushes to MJF and that they don’t need anything to help him. The injured syndicate leaves the room.

Afterwards, Tonistorm heads into the ring, and we see Athena watching the next match from the opera box. Billy Stark then heads for the ring.

AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match: AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm vs. Billy Stark

The match starts with a Storm making an attack first, but Stark can fight back before Storm hits the Sunset Flip for the nearby fall. Starkz then holds Starkz down by Storm rolling her up into another nearby fall, slamming the rope for a drop kick and following it with a backbreaker. Storm then sends Starkz to the corner, running to the corner just for Starkz to fight back. Starkz then seeks approval from Athena before returning to the attack and jumping over the ropes and sending the storm to the outside floor.

Stark then chases it off the apron with a Senton, slams the storm on the announcement desk, brings the storm back into the ring for a snap suppression, and chases it on the bridge for two counts. Stark then holds a storm on his horn before the storm begins to fight back with a few overhand chops and Lucis presses for a series of punches. Stark then fights back against the storm before Storm hits a choke bomb for two counts. Storm then goes to the TCM Chicken’s Wing, but Stark breaks freely and regains his feet, sending the Storm to the mat for a two count. Athena then watches hit some forearm strikes for backslides, but the storm breaks freely for the fisherman suppression and the near fall.

Stark then backs up for running boots. Starkz counters for two counts. Storm then sends her to the corner for a hip attack and sets up for Storm Zero, but Stark counters in the near fall. Starkz then sets up a Senton from above, but gets hit by a few knees in the storm. The judge then calls for Bell, and Storm is locked into the TCM chicken wings, and Stark taps.

AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, winner of the AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Match!

After the match, Starkz blinds her with the title and Storm’s celebration gets shorter as Athena heads into the ring. It appears Athena is trying to win cash on her title match deal as the referee was sent out of the ring. Before she wins a contract, Athena is interrupted by the arrival of Alex Windsor, who runs down the ramp for a save. She then forces Athena and the Staats to retreat the ramp when Windsor checks out the Storm, reminding fans that Windsor will challenge Athena in the clash of the ROH Women’s World Championship.

Swerve Strickland will advance towards the ring for the next night’s match, with Hechicero continuing with Don Callis.

Single Match: Don Carris’ hexero vs. Swave Strickland

The match begins and both men waste no time chasing each other and locking up. They then get a replacement of holds between both men before Strickland sends the hexero to the ropes. Hexero then rolls up Strickland and moves into submission holds before Strickland is released. Both men are now standing up and trade again before Hechsero sends Strickland to the mat for a hook above his shoulder. Hechesero also targets Strickland’s jaw, but Strickland breaks freely, and Hechesero goes to a triangular hold. Strickland can then counter-out for abdominal stretches, but Hechesero grabs the rope and forces a break.

Strickland then laughs at Hexero, leading to a strike between both men before it returns to exchange holds. Hexero then strikes Strickland with a hammerlock bomb. Strickland is then sent to the corner for more strikes from Hechesero, but Strickland fights back with a backbreaker and follows it with a vertical suppression. Both men then trade strikes again, and Hexero sends Strickland to the corner, then slams him onto the mat and slams him into the fall. Strickland can go up to the top and fight back before chuckling hexero on the mat. Hechsero then tries to fight back, but is hit by a thrust kick by Strickland. Strickland then goes up to a splash of 450, bringing him to a two count.

Strickland then returns to Hechicero, but Hechicero holds the sleeper and counters the cross arm breaker. Strickland managed to get free before Hechesero rolled him up for two counts. The hexero then returns immediately and gets two more counts in the process. Strickland then fights back with a dropkick before heading for the corner. Before Strickland goes to Swerve Stomp, Lance Archer goes up to the apron and knocks Strickland from the turnbuckle, and the referee asks Bell to finish the match.

Disqualified, singles match winner for Swerve Strickland!

After the match, Josh Alexander retreats from ringside to date Don Charis as Archer continues his attack. Bandido then runs to the ring to save. Strickland then stares at Karis out of the ring until Okada runs into the ring and hits a shot of a chair on his back. Strickland can then fight back long enough for Okada to clean up from the ring and retreat the ramp at the Don Charis family when Strickland’s music gets hit while Okada takes his seat to call him.

Then we look back at Ricochet and AR Fox from the collision. The Gate of Suffer later won a tag team match. After that, we head backwards. There, on Saturday night, Ricochet and the Gate of Suffering growls about their victory. Ricochet then invests 200K they won in their quest for gold and says that everyone is either respecting or fearing them. That’s demand. Ricochet laughs.

MJF then goes to the ring with the microphone. MJF calls for his music to be cut as he has a lot in his mind. MJF then runs down the Chicago crowd and says Bobby Lashley doesn’t need to get back to the World Championship. MJF then calls the Hangman Page to a hypocrite, promising not to carry out his contract, but to break the page of titles within Ring Fair and Square. Before MJF goes further, he is interrupted by the arrival of Mark Briscoe ahead of the match against Claudio Castagnoli. Brisco holds the microphone in his hand as the crowd chants “Dem Boys.” Brisco promises to shorten this as “Kosher Pickles” MJF, and the crowd will chant “Kosher Pickles” before Briscoe continues.

Brisco says he’s using self-control because he wants to push that microphone into MJF’s ass, but there’s a kid here and docks his pay when they can’t get it back. This will lead Briscoe to issue assignments to MJF for next week’s match, but MJF says no. After that, MJF runs down Briscoe by saying that Briscoe will develop pressure and he will win. MJF then says he is a generational talent and the most complete professional wrestler in today’s world. MJF says he’s honest here and that Mark Briscoe will suck from the bottom of his heart. MJF says he’s just as white trash as everyone in the Midwest.

MJF says he knows these people don’t get enough of Mark Brisco and knows why the crowd tells him “close F-K.” MJF then runs down Briscoe’s looks, saying that even his biggest fans don’t think Briscoe is the top guy. MJF says he doesn’t think he’s close to his level. MJF says Brisco is a joke and these fans don’t actually like him or respect him. MJF says he knows the Delaware man that these people respected and appreciated. MJF says he can’t imagine how difficult it would be for Mark Brisco to see someone looking in his eyes and know that no one respects him enough to respect his brother Jay. This raises the crowd and Mark, who chases after MJF before retreating the ramp.

As Briscoe is already in the ring, Claudio Castagnoli’s music strikes him, and he moves through the crowd into the ring for the night’s main event.

Single Match: Conglomeration’s Mark Briscoe vs. Death Riders ‘Claudio Castagnoli

The match begins with Castagnoli sending Briscoe to the corner for a chop, but Briscoe confronts him before pushing Castagnoli into the corner for his own strike. This leads to both men taking a blow in the middle of the ring. This ends with Castagnoli sending Briscoe to the ropes, but Briscoe goes back to sending Castagnoli to the mat instead. Brisco then slaps the boots in the face and he stays on the attack, sending Castagnoli into the corner before Castagnoli spins things towards the centre for a series of stomps. The judge forces Castagnoli to retreat as Brisco is able to find his footing. Brisco then fights Castagnoli from his apron before sending him to the floor outside.

Castagnoli is back, but Briscoe didn’t give up as he had sent Castagnoli to Top Rope on the laundry route. Castagnoli then blocks the scissors kick and sets up a huge swing with Briscoes towards the barricade. The fight is headed for the turnbuckle as Brisco sends out Castagnoli with a hard chop. Castagnoli then attacks the European uppercut, approaching autumn. Castagnoli then steps on Briscoe’s hand, but Castagnoli finds himself distracted by the presence of Derby Allin in the crowd. This allows Briscoe to fight back from the rope and take an elbow strike and send a casaggunoli to the corner. Castagnoli then blocks the explosive, but gets a 2 count with a kick from Briscoe.

Brisco then sends Castagnoli through the rope and hits the cannonball dive through the rope. He then stands at the announcement desk and raises Cactus Jack’s elbow to Castagnoli. He then now gets on the barricade, hit another shot at Castagnoli before returning to the ring. Briscoe then goes up and slams the frog’s bow for the cover, but Castagnoli is kicked out. Castagnoli then blocks the Jay Driller and sends Briscoe to the corner. Briscoe is then dropped onto the top rope before Castagnoli hits an avalanche body slam for the cover, but Brisco manages to kick out. Brisco then blocks the neutralizer and sends Castagnoli to the ropes, but the referee is distracted and allows Castagnoli to hit a thumbs up with his eyes for the nearby fall. He then goes to neutralizer again, but this time he is hugged by Briscoe for victory.

Mark Briscoe of Conglomeration, the winner of the singles match!

After the match, Briscoe’s celebration is shortened as Marina Shafir attacks Briscoe from behind and Wheeler Utah also appears, but John Moxley says that Page is not the champion just because he has the title. Moxley then promises to make sure no one is too comfortable. Before the attack goes further, Hangman Page makes his way with his own microphone. Page says Moxley was lying when he said he didn’t want Texas to die. Page then publishes his own challenge next week, and the two are heading once more to the AEW world title. Page says he plays by Page’s rules as Moxley is the challenger. Page says everyone except the judge is banned from ringside. Page says he will meet Moxley next week, as he already knows that Moxley says yes. The music on Page then hits when he leaves, and Moxley is still in the ring and looks ready to chase the title next week as dynamite approaches.
