AEW star Thunder Rosa has announced she will be taking a break in July following the Texas AEW event and the ROH Super Card of Honor. The Texas AEW show, held on July 12th, saw Thunder Rosa win a women’s casino gauntlet match. However, the night before at Super Card of Honor, she was defeated by ROH Women’s World Champion Athena.

Despite these recent setbacks, Thunder Rosa shared on her video blog that she plans to take some time off, expressing dissatisfaction with recent results and stating, “I’m not a fan of my life.” She described the day as challenging but emphasized the need to keep moving forward. Thunder Rosa wrapped up her vlog on a positive note, calling the experience “luxury” and thanking fans for their support during AEW Pay-Per-View. While she mentioned her break was “natural,” she did not specify the length or details of her vacation.

Reports indicate she has no set timeline for her return and is recovering from a private injury. Previously, Thunder Rosa was sidelined with a back injury from August 2022 to December 2023.

Fan Take: Thunder Rosa’s break is significant for AEW fans since she’s been a major figure in women’s wrestling. Her recovery period could allow her to come back stronger, and her absence might open opportunities for new talent to rise in AEW’s women’s division, keeping the competition fresh and exciting.
