Potential Ring Returns Linked to AEW Name Absence

Brandon Cutler, last seen wrestling in AEW back in July 2024, has recently shared thoughts about possibly returning to compete in the ring. He debuted in AEW at the 2019 Double or Nothing event during the Casino Battle Royale Buy-in Show. Over the years, Cutler became a regular presence, notably competing in the Royal Rampage match on last year’s Rampage episode, which determined the #1 contender for the AEW World Championship.

During a recent Masterclass episode, Cutler was asked about his potential AEW in-ring comeback. He reflected, “It’s crazy. It’s wrestling. You can’t see the future. That’s what I’ve learned—never to say never, and everything is possible.”

Beyond wrestling, Cutler took on a behind-the-scenes role as an executive producer for AEW content, starting in May 2019. Although he hasn’t appeared in the AEW ring since early this year, he has been active on the independent wrestling circuit in Canada, with his most recent match being a loss to A1 Zero Gravity Champion Alec Price on July 20th at the A1 The Purge event.

Fan Take: This news is exciting for AEW fans, as Cutler’s potential return could bring fresh energy and storytelling opportunities to the ring. His dual experience as both a performer and producer uniquely positions him to contribute meaningfully to AEW’s evolving wrestling landscape.
