On July 24, McMahon, 79, was involved in a car accident in Connecticut, according to a report by the state police. The incident occurred on Route 15, known as the Merritt Parkway, where McMahon was accused of driving between 80-85 mph and following another vehicle too closely. Operating a 2024 Bentley Continental GT, McMahon rear-ended Barbara Dolan’s late-model BMW 400 Series. His car then hit a wooden guardrail dividing the lanes, with debris striking a third driver, Dylan Zimmerman. All vehicles involved were towed.
Witnesses reported McMahon’s car moving at high speeds and swerving through traffic. An unmarked Connecticut State Police vehicle tried to pull him over with lights flashing but ended up hitting the BMW from behind. One witness noted that the police intended to issue McMahon a speeding ticket but charged him with reckless driving instead. Connecticut law states that driving over 85 mph is a violation.

In his book “Slobberknocker,” Jim Ross described being a passenger with McMahon during a stop by Ohio State Troopers, where McMahon attempted to charm the officers to avoid a ticket—with no success, as one trooper quipped back sarcastically.
