Iguana and Psycho Piero Step onto WWE’s Main Roster Stage, Forfeiting Their Chance to Reclaim AAA Tag Team Titles

On “SmackDown,” Ross Garza successfully defended the AAA Tag Team Championship in an Open Challenge. Although they captured the titles in June, this marked their first defense within WWE. Mr. Iguana, a third of the AAA World Trio champions, along with Psyco Piero, a member of the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champions, promptly accepted the challenge.

During the match, Psycho Clown endured a series of attacks from Los Garza before being overwhelmed with a double team. Iguana, accompanied by his puppet allies La Jesca and Bit Belt, attempted a high-flying move but was intercepted and powerbombed. Iguana hovered above Los Garza outside the ring but was caught and thrown back by his partner, shifting momentum. Clown attempted a crossbody but was caught and pinned by MTY, handing the victory to Los Garza.

Mr. Iguana and Psycho Clown made their WWE debut in June at Worlds Collide, a collaborative event between WWE and AAA. Iguana teamed with Octagon Jr. and Aerostar to face Lynce Dorado, Dragon Lee, and Cruz del Toro, while Clown joined forces with Pagano, Eli Hijo de Dr. Wagner, Jr., and Legado del Fantasma.

Fan Take: This event highlights the growing integration of international wrestling talent into WWE, adding fresh dynamics to the roster. For fans, it signals exciting new matchups and storylines that could elevate the sport’s global appeal.
