Zilla Fatu has responded vigorously following his uncle Rikishi’s harsh comments about him after Fatu’s debut with TNA at Slammiversary.

During an appearance on the Top Podcast, Rikishi discussed Zilla’s debut and acknowledged that Zilla is putting in effort on the indie wrestling circuit, working to establish his identity as the son of Umaga.

However, Rikishi expressed confusion over Zilla’s choice to wear face paint reminiscent of Jeff Hardy’s style. He criticized this decision, suggesting it came off as trying to emulate or promote a well-established icon, which he deemed unnecessary.

Rikishi pointed out that Jeff Hardy was using similar face paint that night and questioned who encouraged Zilla to imitate that look, emphasizing that Zilla shouldn’t just mimic Hardy’s persona. While understanding Zilla’s admiration for Jeff, given their family connection, Rikishi urged him to carve out his own path.

“I understand your father was friends with Jeff Hardy, but if Zilla had long hair, it would look like recognizing Jeff Hardy. As he’s trying to establish himself as Umaga’s son on the independent circuit, I think he should avoid copying styles.”

“I truly don’t see the point of the face paint. It doesn’t reflect good marketing; it seems like he’s trying to sell Jeff Hardy. Let’s keep it real; Jeff is already a legend. I get that Zilla looked up to Jeff, but he needs to be seen as his own individual.”

In a now-deleted tweet, Zilla shared his frustration over Rikishi publicly discussing him rather than reaching out directly through calls or texts. He felt it was unfair for Rikishi to criticize him for attention-seeking purposes, reminding Rikishi that he still has his father’s spirit with him.

“You have my number and we have talked about things before. Just for your info, Uncle, my pop is still around… he hasn’t gone anywhere.”

Clearly, Zilla Fatu believes Rikishi crossed a line while making comments about Umaga. Fans are now left wondering if Rikishi will apologize to Zilla in the near future.
