R-Truth recently shared some behind-the-scenes insights about his WWE return event. The Attitude Era legend made his WWE comeback in June to boost pay-per-view sales, using the occasion to debut a new, more serious look by cutting his hair live in front of fans.
In an interview with Ringer Wrestling, the former NWA World Champion revealed that only Triple H was aware of this segment beforehand, and even he found out about it on the day of the show. R-Truth recalled asking Triple H on the spot, who was surprised by the idea. “No one knew about it, but I asked Triple H that day. He did a double take and said, ‘What did you say?’ That was my trademark. I said, ‘It’s time,’” he said.
A few months earlier in a chat with Chris Van Vliet, R-Truth expressed dissatisfaction with his previous look, particularly how his hair appeared. That conversation sparked his decision for a makeover. He explained, “I had to do it to get myself mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared. That was the moment. [Laughs] I’m bald now, but we’re flipping the script—this is Ron Killing, not just R-Truth.”
At 53, R-Truth made an impactful return attacking John Cena, which led to a rematch ending in disqualification. Following that, he entered a rivalry with Aleister Black and also faced Dominik Mysterio at a live event.
Fan Take: This return highlights R-Truth’s commitment to evolving his character and staying relevant in WWE’s ever-changing landscape. For fans, it signals fresh storylines and a renewed intensity in the superstar’s career, which could bring more exciting moments to the sport.
