Jake Hager, known for his time in WWE and AEW, has officially declared his retirement from professional wrestling. In a recent interview, the former world heavyweight champion shared that he has transitioned into a new phase of life as a full-time entrepreneur.
During an appearance on the Sayara Podcast’s Rule Breaker episode, Hager confirmed that he has stepped away from wrestling for good. When asked about his current pursuits, he revealed his retirement from the sport.
“I’m out of wrestling. I can almost say – I’ve retired from that,” Hager stated.
He also shared that he has started a trucking business called “Transporting Oats,” based in Tampa, Florida. Though he isn’t personally driving, he manages the company and expressed enthusiasm for this new venture: “I’m not driving – I’m getting people driving. But yeah, I’m excited. Something to stab my teeth. Hard work always pays off,” he said.
Hager’s retirement concludes a distinguished career across two major wrestling organizations. In WWE, performing as Jack Swagger, he captured the World Heavyweight Championship, ECW Championship, and US Championship. He then joined AEW in 2019 as a key member of Chris Jericho’s faction. Additionally, Hager had an undefeated stint in professional MMA with Bellator, showcasing his athletic versatility.
