Drew McIntyre wants fans to remember that he once defeated Brock Lesnar.

The top WWE star has shown his support for Brock Lesnar’s much-debated return at SummerSlam. WWE CCO Triple H praised the comeback as incredible, and reigning WWE Champion Cody Rhodes believes Lesnar fits perfectly with the company’s current direction.

In a recent interview with West Sports, McIntyre shared his thoughts and said Lesnar’s return didn’t come as a surprise to him:

“I thought, ‘There’s Brock. He’s here.’ I saw him come out. I wrestled one of the SummerSlam events—very successful, with 113,000 people over two days. And that marked my last appearance.”

Drew McIntyre offered a more measured perspective compared to others. He highlighted Brock’s impact on headlines and his significance in WWE history:

“I was on a plane, probably just arriving home near Nashville, when I saw the news that Brock was back. He makes a lot of headlines, and more importantly, he’s the guy I beat in the main event of WrestleMania to win my first WWE Championship… in just five minutes.”

McIntyre faced Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 after winning the 2020 Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, the event took place at the Performance Center without a live audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fan Take: This development is exciting for WWE fans as it revives one of the sport’s most intense rivalries. Lesnar’s return alongside McIntyre’s reminder of their history sets the stage for compelling storylines that could elevate WWE’s drama and in-ring action.
