In a recent interview with West Sports, McIntyre shared his thoughts and said Lesnar’s return didn’t come as a surprise to him:
“I thought, ‘There’s Brock. He’s here.’ I saw him come out. I wrestled one of the SummerSlam events—very successful, with 113,000 people over two days. And that marked my last appearance.”

“I was on a plane, probably just arriving home near Nashville, when I saw the news that Brock was back. He makes a lot of headlines, and more importantly, he’s the guy I beat in the main event of WrestleMania to win my first WWE Championship… in just five minutes.”
McIntyre faced Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 after winning the 2020 Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, the event took place at the Performance Center without a live audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
