The truth has made a comeback!
This week on Smackdown in Montreal, Canada, WWE veteran and Attitude Era star reunited with his longtime friend John Cena. This reunion followed Cena’s return as a babyface on last week’s Blue Brand episode.
Initially, it seemed the two WWE legends were unsure about each other, but any doubts quickly disappeared. Seeing Cena back in his classic role, R-Truth exclaimed, "You’re back! You’re really back! If you’re back, I’m back! We’re back!"
After their emotional embrace, John Cena admitted to R-Truth that he’s been acting differently lately, telling people he’s mean and trying to "ruin wrestling." This left the former NWA champion puzzled.
The two WWE icons had a history of clashing during Cena’s heel phase. Cena defeated R-Truth in a main event match on a Saturday night in May, after which R-Truth was released from WWE.
R-Truth made a dramatic return by attacking Cena at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, leading to a match that ended in disqualification. Adopting a more serious image, the 53-year-old even cut his hair during a Smackdown promo.
These recent developments suggest that with John Cena’s babyface comeback, R-Truth’s classic persona may also be revived in WWE storylines.
Fan Take: This reunion between Cena and R-Truth is a nostalgic and thrilling moment for WWE fans, signaling a potential resurgence of beloved characters from the Attitude Era. It could inject fresh excitement and deeper storylines into WWE programming, blending legacy with the present.
