AEW star Samoa Joe has disclosed that he sustained an injury while filming the TV series “Twisted Metal” during his time away from wrestling. Joe plays a central role in Peacock’s “Twisted Metal” series, physically portraying the character who is voiced by Will Arnett.
In an interview with Pwinsider’s Mike Johnson, Samoa Joe shared that he broke his ankle in 2024 during the filming of the second season of “Twisted Metal.” He explained, “The wrestling ring is usually more unstable, but I broke my ankle mid-season with no dramatic incident. Later, while working on rough asphalt, I injured my back and twisted my ankle again. I taped it up and continued limping through the rest of the season.” Joe highlighted the physical intensity of “Twisted Metal,” mentioning the demanding battle and driving scenes where he is frequently visible.
“Twisted Metal” Season 2, featuring Samoa Joe, is currently available for streaming on Peacock. After his injury, Samoa Joe made his wrestling comeback a month later on the August 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, teaming with Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs to defeat Dralistico, Rush, and The Beast Mortos.
AEW is set to host a crossover pay-per-view event, Banned Door, on August 24 in London, England, where a CMLL star has been confirmed for an AEW title match. For further details and the latest AEW news, fans can follow provided updates.
