Karrion Kross is no longer part of WWE as both his and Scarlett’s contracts ended on August 10th. The pair made their last appearance together at this year’s SummerSlam.
Kross’s departure comes after weeks of speculation about his contract situation and the possibility of him leaving. In an interview on Ariel Helwani’s show, Kross admitted that when he arrived at SummerSlam, he had a feeling that his time was coming to an end.
He shared, “I felt that. I had my friend say, ‘You know, maybe I’ll do something for the crowd that will live when you leave—maybe I’ll do a goodbye.’”
While many wrestlers aim for a memorable goodbye in their final match, that wasn’t Kross’s style. The former NXT champion preferred to ensure the spotlight remained on Sami Zayn instead.
Kross explained, “I said, ‘I don’t want to be the star. This moment is obviously for the babyface to come back and reclaim everything we took from him. I don’t need to make this about myself now. It’s about him.’”
He also revealed that AEW has not yet approached him, which surprised him. Fans are eager to see what Karrion Kross and Scarlett will do next, as they have already been active since leaving WWE.
SummerSlam 2025 was Kross’s only singles match at a major event, and he’s happy with how he handled it. Though there was a personal touch in his farewell, Kross remained professional until the very end.
