Karrion Kross has confirmed the reports about his departure from WWE. The former NXT champion made his final WWE appearance at SummerSlam, where he lost to Sami Zayn. His contract with WWE expired on August 10th, with reports indicating that the company offered him a new contract in the final moments.
In an interview with Ariel Helwani, Kross confirmed that WWE extended a contract offer to him after SummerSlam. However, the company did not disclose how they determined the terms of the offer.
“My contract expired last week. Until then, I had never actually received a contract offer. I think it was Tuesday when I got the offer,” Kross said. “I wanted to know how they assessed the offer — some data, metrics, or analysis.”
Kross added that WWE gave him only 24 hours to accept the contract, or the offer would be withdrawn. The 40-year-old wrestler chose not to accept the ultimatum, preferring to end his run with the promotion instead.
“When I asked for details, they said they didn’t want to provide that information. They gave me 24 hours to accept or the offer was off the table. The next day, I asked again, but they still wouldn’t share anything. I told them I couldn’t make an informed decision without that info and wanted to keep communication open. They withdrew the offer, and that’s where things stand.”
Despite the way things ended, Kross remains open to returning to WWE at some point, as he wants to provide fans with what they want.
