2 Min Read

This week’s episode of "AEW Dynamite" highlights the upcoming return of Hook, who had been out of action due to a concussion. According to a recent report, Hook is set to remain with AEW for the foreseeable future.

Fightful Select reports that Hook, the former FTW champion, signed a multi-year contract in 2024 with the assistance of his agent Barry Bloom. Although specific details of the contract remain undisclosed, it is confirmed that his deal extends for several years.

Hook, son of AEW commentator Taz, made his pro wrestling debut in December 2021 by defeating Fuego Del Sol on "AEW Rampage." Over the following years, he became a three-time FTW champion before relinquishing the title in September 2024. Recently, Hook teamed up with Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata to form the faction known as the OPP.

Hook returned to action on the April 9th edition of "Dynamite," where he and Joe secured a victory over Death Riders Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. The next week, Hook, Joe, and Shibata were set to challenge Death Riders for the AEW Trios Championship. However, due to Hook’s concussion from the previous tag match, Powerhouse Hobbs replaced him.

Hook made a brief appearance during an arena match, assisting Anaking by unexpectedly attacking Castagnoli with a golf club, but soon after, he went back into absence. The exact date for his full return to television is still unknown.

Fan Take: Hook’s multi-year contract is a significant win for AEW, signaling their commitment to nurturing young talent and securing future stars. His return could inject fresh energy into AEW storylines and elevate the quality of in-ring action, thrilling fans and enhancing the sport’s competitive landscape.
