The existing partnership between WWE and AAA has proven to be quite successful, with various AAA talents appearing on WWE shows. This trend will continue as WWE has recently signed multiple AAA performers to new contracts.
As reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer newsletter, talents including Microman, La Heedra, La Parka, Fabi Apache, Niño Hamburgusa, Messiah, and Lady Flamer have all secured contracts with WWE and are already involved in merchandise promotions.
Meltzer further suggested that it’s highly probable that all participants in the upcoming Triplemania Show are under WWE contracts, given that WWE owns the company and there are currently no avenues for them to transfer legally to AEW.
“Microman, La Heedra, La Parka, Fabi Apache, Niño Hamburgusa, Messiah, and Lady Flamer have signed WWE contracts with AAA and are already featured on merchandise.”
“At this point, I have strong reasons to believe that anyone appearing at the Triplemania show is under WWE contract since WWE owns the company and there are no pathways for them to transition legally to AEW.”
This news follows previous reports detailing WWE’s evolving strategy in relation to signing AAA talent.
With WWE now managing the AAA talent roster, these stars are more integrated into WWE’s programming than ever. This strategy not only helps WWE retain AAA’s top talent but also effectively blocks promotions like AEW from signing these performers.
Fan Take: This announcement is significant for wrestling fans as it highlights WWE’s stronghold on talent from AAA, suggesting a more unified and engaging wrestling narrative. Fans may appreciate this move as it could lead to more diverse storytelling within WWE, while also raising questions about the implications for competition with AEW.
