Rebuilding Strength: Post-Injury Training Sessions at the Performance Center

It appears that a WWE Raw superstar is set to make a comeback soon. The red brand is currently dealing with several injured key players, and this update could be beneficial for the promotion.

According to an exclusive report from PWInsider Elite by Mike Johnson, Chad Gable, originally known as El Grande Americano, is preparing to return to WWE. He is expected to train at the WWE Performance Center later this week in preparation for his return to the ring.

Gable’s last match took place on the June 17, 2025 episode of WWE Speed, during which he broke the championship belt. His final WWE Raw match was a loss to AJ Styles on the June 9, 2025 episode. Since Gable has been sidelined, Ludwig Kaiser has taken on the El Grande Americano character, who has surprisingly become quite popular in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, where there are several Americano personas.

Gable is currently recovering from a rotator cuff injury that required surgery in July. He discussed the injury in an interview at a Minnesota Twins game, expressing a positive outlook despite the setback. He said, “I see a silver lining here. I had a little rotator cuff injury, but it gave me time to take time off from traveling and be home with my family and do things like this. Come to the baseball game on Sunday. I’ll never be able to do that. So look on the bright side, right?”

Chad Gable has been with WWE since his in-ring debut at an NXT house show on September 5, 2014, and rose to prominence two years later. He was part of a tag team with Jason Jordan and most recently led two stables, Alpha Academy and American Made.

Notably, Gable’s former Alpha Academy teammates, particularly Maxine Dupri, are doing well. Dupri recently made a big impact by defeating Becky Lynch on the November 17 episode of Raw to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Despite Lynch receiving some support from AJ Lee, Dupri’s victory was well-deserved and likely makes her former trainer, Gable, proud—proof that even a villainous character roots for the underdog.

Fan Take: Chad Gable’s return is exciting news for WWE fans as it brings back a talented and versatile performer just when the Raw roster has been hit with injuries. His comeback could inject fresh energy into storylines and elevate the competition, promising thrilling matches ahead.
