Tony Khan has shared new information about Chris Jericho’s absence from AEW. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, Khan addressed questions about why Jericho has not appeared on AEW television for some time.
Khan highlighted that Jericho has been with AEW since the beginning but did not confirm whether he would return. He mentioned that the absence might be related to contract timing issues.
When asked about Jericho’s time away, Khan said, "That’s a very good question. There’s also the problem of just calculating dates."
Jericho has not been seen on AEW TV since April, and many fans speculate he might be heading back to WWE. Khan is aware of these rumors but did not comment on reports that Jericho’s contract expires at the end of the year. However, he expressed hope that Jericho would return, emphasizing that the current absence is tied to contractual date negotiations.
"I hope so. I definitely hope Chris comes back. And with a star like Chris Jericho, I think he’ll negotiate some dates. Chris has always been really great at being one of the wrestlers in AEW and when he competes, he goes all out. And if you think about it, he’s always been on the show full time,” Khan noted.
In a separate part of the interview, Khan also spoke about Andrade’s status and whether the Mexican wrestler will be allowed to come back after recent controversies.
Fan Take: This update is significant for AEW fans because Jericho has been a cornerstone of the promotion since its launch, and his potential return could inject fresh energy into the roster. His absence and the ongoing contract discussions highlight the behind-the-scenes challenges that can impact the on-screen product in professional wrestling.
