Exclusive Backstage Insights and Complete Creative Blueprint for AEW Star’s Comeback

The 7th annual AEW Full Gear pay-per-view is approaching soon, with fans gathering at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. A recent report from Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp suggests the event will be strong and might include some unexpected moments.

Sapp reveals that AEW is bringing back several top wrestlers who have been absent due to injury or breaks. One notable return could be MJF, a former AEW World Champion who was last seen at the All Out pay-per-view in September, losing to Mark Brisco in a “Tables and Taxes” match. Although MJF has been busy filming “Violent Night 2,” he’s now finished and is set to appear at Wrestle Cade next weekend. Since MJF rarely makes appearances during breaks, his imminent return to AEW could mean he features at Full Gear.

Another return likely before the year ends is that of Swerve Strickland, also a former AEW World Champion. Strickland was last shown being attacked by the Don Callis family on Forbidden Door in August and underwent surgery for a torn ACL, which kept him off TV. According to Sapp, Strickland’s comeback was delayed but is expected soon if no complications arise, and he might have already returned if things had gone as planned after All In Texas in July.

Regarding Full Gear itself, Sapp notes that Ricochet and Bobby Lashley are seen as leading contenders for the inaugural AEW National Championship. There is strong speculation that Hangman Page will leave New Jersey as the AEW Men’s World Champion, although his rivalry with Samoa Joe will likely continue beyond this event.

Fan Take: This update is exciting for AEW fans because the return of major stars like MJF and Swerve Strickland promises fresh storylines and intense matches. Their comebacks, combined with high-stakes championship bouts, could elevate AEW’s profile even further and inject new energy into the wrestling world.
