Lucha Brothers Set for Exciting WWE Reunion Match: Confirmation Official

2 Min Read

A reunion match for the Lucha Brothers has been officially announced, marking their first team-up since joining WWE earlier this year. During last night’s AAA Alianzas event, which was broadcast live on WWE’s YouTube channel, Penta and Rey Fenix made a surprise appearance together. The duo, who have previously secured tag team titles across several promotions including AEW, TNA, MLW, AAA, and ROH, reunited on a WWE show for the first time.

WWE initially planned to present them as a tag team, but contract timing complications caused Penta to debut in January while Fenix remained with AEW until April before officially joining WWE. At the event, Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano won a main event tag match against Dragon Lee and El Hijo del Vikingko, after Vikingko turned on his partner and was disqualified.

Later, the Lucha Brothers challenged Mysterio and Americano to a match set for AAA’s Guerra de Titanes event on December 20th. Mysterio accepted the challenge in a video, confirming the bout and stating, “Brother Lucha. It looks like we will meet in Guadalajara. December 20th. The AAA Mega Champion, the King of Luchadors, will meet you there.”

Fan Take: This reunion is a significant moment for WWE fans as it not only brings back a beloved and highly skilled tag team but also bridges the gap between WWE and AAA, enhancing cross-promotion excitement. The match holds promise for high-octane action and could signal a new era of tag team dominance in WWE.
