Darby Allin’s Health Update: Latest on AEW Continental Classic Star’s Condition

2 Min Read

Following his loss to Kevin Knight at the 2025 Continental Classic, AEW confirmed that Darby Allin was hospitalized due to an undisclosed injury and was not cleared for competition or travel as of December 3. AEW commentator Excalibur mentioned that more updates on Allin’s condition would be provided on Saturday’s episode of “AEW Collision.”

Brian Alvarez from Wrestling Observer Radio reported that Allin’s injury from the Gold League match on November 26 is genuine. Although AEW stated that Allin remains hospitalized a week later, Alvarez shared that doctors had actually approved Allin to go home before December 3.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that Allin sustained a head injury from a strike during the match. While the exact moment of injury is uncertain, Meltzer ruled out Knight’s coast-to-coast dropkick late in the bout as the cause.

Regarding Allin’s comeback, Meltzer noted that AEW officials will assess his condition at Collision in Columbus, Ohio, to better understand his recovery timeline. This evaluation could influence Allin’s eligibility to compete further in the 2025 Continental Classic.

In league standings, Kyle Fletcher leads the C2 Gold League with six points after victories over Kazuchika Okada and Kevin Knight. Meanwhile, Claudio Castagnoli tops the Blue League with six points following wins against Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley.

Fan Take: Darby Allin’s health update is crucial as it impacts one of AEW’s most dynamic and popular talents, potentially affecting key matchups in the Continental Classic. His recovery will be closely watched by fans who know how much his presence adds excitement and unpredictability to the sport.
