Just hours before WWE NXT Deadline kicked off live at the Boeing Center in San Antonio, Ethan Page took things up a notch by delivering a heated final promo in the parking lot outside the arena. Page, who is set to defend his NXT North American Championship against AAA’s Mr. Iguana, didn’t hold back, turning the usual match hype into a personal confrontation. Instead of sticking to traditional promo tactics, Page brought up an unusual off-screen issue involving a rental car, accusing Iguana of leaving WWE with a mess to fix.
Page stated, “Iguana, the last few days have been super frustrating—not for the reasons you might think. You clearly don’t realize the bad impression you left on the WWE business after abandoning my rental car near Disney World. If I needed some money to deal with a rat, I could have handled it—but now I’m stuck cleaning up the chaos you caused for me and the company.”
He pushed the metaphor further, sending a warning that the good times are over: “I think you’ve been assuming the green light is always on because you’ve been doing whatever you want. Well, today green means stop—that’s me. Now you’ll have to face the consequences of your actions. Iguana, I’m the stop sign. Don’t pass go, don’t collect $200, and definitely don’t walk away with Ethan Page’s money.”
Page wrapped up his promo by threatening to send Iguana home again after their match, adding even more intensity to their upcoming bout: “Iguana, there’s no issue sending your stuff home after tonight. I’ll take you home just like I did on Tuesday.”
With high emotions and a title on the line, what was supposed to be a standard championship match has become deeply personal.
