Blake Howard sat down with Dion Lennox for an interview earlier this week. Blake asked John Cena what it meant to be chosen. Dion said she was sometimes jostled and treated like a joke by people she didn’t know well. He had to find people like himself to form bonds with. Now having Cena recognize him as a dominant force shows he’s on the right path. He made it clear that he’s not trying to be anyone else, he’s here to be Dion Lennox.
Blake then asked about giving up some of the tag titles. Dion explained that he would like to keep the title within the group, but is now focused on singles gold. He’s not dividing his attention. For him, it’s all about family —“When one person eats, everyone eats.” He said he plans to prove that Cena made the right decision in choosing him.
Blake brought up Dion’s change in attitude. Dion said the fire was still there and if you pushed hard enough you would see it. He feels like he finally got what he deserved. One more win and he’s one step away from becoming the NXT Champion. If he fails, the blame will be on him. But if he wins, he said: “There is no one but me.”
Finally, Blake asked who Dion would like to face if he wins. Dion said he had been waiting for a long time to confront Oba Femi. That’s the match he wants. He said there is nothing more satisfying than defeating the man who started it all.
