Lucha Libre enthusiasts, mark your calendars! AAA is set to debut on FOX with a live event from Mexico City on January 17th.
AAA Worldwide Wrestling announced the specific launch date via Twitter this week. The live show promises an impressive lineup featuring stars like Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, Vikingko, Mr. Iguana, Dragon Lee, Rey Fenix, Penta, and El Grande Americano.
“AAA will premiere on FOX Live from Mexico City on January 17th! Tickets are available at Bolemovil. Be sure to follow us on FOX, FOX on Tubi, and FOX One in Mexico and Latin America.”
This launch officially begins AAA’s exclusive broadcasting relationship with FOX Corporation, initially announced earlier this year. Starting in 2026, FOX will serve as AAA’s media home in Mexico, Central America, and South America (excluding Brazil), but the launch has been expedited.
Thanks to the multiplatform agreement, fans will have access to AAA programming—including major events like Triplemania—via FOX pay TV channels, Tubi (with ads), and the subscription-based service, FOX One.
Rey Mysterio, who famously began his illustrious career in AAA, highlighted the significance of this partnership for Lucha Libre.
“AAA has been part of my roots since day one, and seeing it showcased to a new audience on FOX in Mexico makes me feel both proud and excited. Lucha Libre is part of our culture, and sharing these stories with a broader audience is just the start. The future of AAA looks brighter than ever.”
The January 17th launch also signifies the first major crossover event since WWE partnered with the Mexican entertainment group Phillippe to acquire AAA. WWE executive Patrick Dooley elaborated on the broader implications of this collaboration.
“This partnership will introduce AAA to new audiences and elevate sports entertainment in Mexico to new heights.”
Luis Maldonado from FOX Sports Mexico echoed these sentiments, stating that Lucha Libre is a crucial aspect of regional culture.
“Lucha Libre is a vital part of Mexican identity and passion, and we are incredibly proud to share its stories and icons with millions of homes across the nation.”
FOX already broadcasts major events like Liga MX, Premier League, UEFA Champions League, and Formula 1, meaning that adding AAA will further enhance its dominance in premium sports entertainment in Latin America.
The event on January 17th is poised to usher in a significant new era for both AAA and Lucha Libre as a whole. With WWE’s support and FOX’s reach, the stakes are higher than ever.
