A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support his longtime partner Gail and their son Chris, who are in danger of losing their home.
Mahoney, who died in April 2016, left behind a significant legacy in ECW, WWE, and the hardcore wrestling arena. His family continues to endure significant challenges since his passing.
Gail has been raising their son Chris on her own while dealing with her own disability that requires her to use a wheelchair, as outlined in the fundraiser. She is still battling for disability benefits, and Chris, now a high school senior, has recently had to leave their home with very little notice.
The campaign page explains, “Gail and Chris have no money to move and no place to go and are at risk of becoming homeless as Chris finishes his senior year and looks forward to graduation.”
Chris, who is reportedly the top student in his class and preparing for college, faces these difficulties during what should be an exciting time in his life. Gail remains steadfast in her dedication to provide love and stability for him, but the clock is running out. The fundraiser seeks to raise $8,000 to cover moving expenses and secure a new home, with $6,000 already contributed.
The campaign also states, “If you know John, have been touched by his career, or simply want to help a family in need, your support will make a huge difference.”
