John Cena Breaks His Alcohol-Free Streak with a Special ‘First Drink’ alongside WWE Hall of Famer!

Many professional wrestlers prioritize maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to perform at their best. However, in the early stages of his wrestling career, John Cena often found himself socializing in bars post-show instead of resting at a hotel. Although he hadn’t been much of a drinker in his youth, his perspective changed when he had his first drink with WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker.

In an interview with Bill Simmons, Cena reminisced about that moment: "I was 26 years old when I had drinks with The Undertaker. He is a wise and reserved person who made me feel at ease. Although I initially hesitated about drinking, I thought, ‘Let’s try this.’ I’m thankful for that experience because the lessons he shared with me during that evening have stayed with me."

Cena reflected on some key insights from their conversation. He recalled Undertaker emphasizing the importance of looking after fellow wrestlers: "[He] never made the boys pay." Another crucial lesson was to "never say goodbye." Cena noted that he often struggled with farewells, especially after nights out. Learning to depart without a formal goodbye led him to adopt the "Irish Farewell," which he continues to use—when it’s time to exit, he leaves quietly, much like his approach in the ring.

This story highlights the importance of mentorship in wrestling, as legends like The Undertaker influence the younger generation. Such interactions can shape not only wrestling careers but also the culture within the sport, showcasing the value of camaraderie and wisdom.
