AEW Continental Classic 2025 Recap: Exciting Highlights from the Collision Holiday Bash

2 Min Read

On December 17th in Manchester, England, AEW fans were treated to three hours of action featuring the Holiday Bash edition of “AEW Dynamite” and the first half of “AEW Collision.” The second half of “Collision” is set to air on December 20th, with the 2025 Continental Classic tournament’s Gold League drawing closer to a climax as two matches took place.

The night kicked off with a singles match between “Jungle” Jack Perry, the only Gold League competitor without any points, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey, who entered with six points after consecutive wins against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight. The match saw both wrestlers targeting each other’s ankles, including a risky moment where Bayley and Perry landed awkwardly. Ultimately, Perry secured the win by biting Bayley’s toe, following up with a back suplex and finishing with a “speedball” move for the pin. After the match, Luchasaurus offered Bayley a Christmas gift as a consolation.

The main event featured Kazuchika Okada facing off against Kevin Knight. Okada needed a win to help Manchester take the lead in the Gold League, but after two losses, Knight was eager to turn his fortunes around. Despite Okada’s experience and efforts to control the match, Knight’s persistence paid off when he countered Okada’s move and scored a surprise rollup to claim victory and three crucial points.

With Knight’s win, every Gold League competitor except Jack Perry now has six points. AEW will take the tournament next to New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom for the Continental Classic League’s final stages on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
