Jade Cargill Set to Defend Her Women’s Title for the First Time on WWE SmackDown Next Week

2 Min Read

Nearly two months after capturing the WWE Women’s Championship, Jade Cargill is set to defend her title on the first SmackDown episode of the new year. Since her victory, tensions have risen between Cargill and Michin along with B-Fab due to Cargill’s attitude. The rivalry escalated when Cargill confronted them about their criticisms, quickly defeated B-Fab in a non-title match, and later threw Michin against a wall. Michin retaliated by attacking Cargill with a kendo stick the following week.

During Friday’s show, Byron Saxton questioned Cargill about her conflict with Michin, to which she responded that Michin is afraid to face her directly and should bring a kendo stick if he plans to challenge her again. Cargill asserted, "I don’t need a weapon." B-Fab advised caution to avoid any injuries, while Michin stated they don’t fear but rather don’t respect Cargill, claiming her attitude is poor and that she wrongly believes her physical strength makes her superior and entitled.

Starting next week, SmackDown will extend to three hours. Confirmed matches include an ambulance match rematch between Aleister Black and Damian Priest, and multiple eight-person tag team matches featuring top stars like Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Rush Legend, Nia Jax, Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and tag team champions Asuka and Kairi Sane.

Fan Take: This news is significant for WWE fans as it marks a key moment for Jade Cargill’s reign as Women’s Champion, setting the stage for intense rivalries and character development. The expanded SmackDown format promises more action and storylines, which could enhance the overall excitement and depth of WWE programming.
