MJF Reclaims AEW World Championship in Thrilling World’s End Four-Way Showdown

2 Min Read

After making his return to AEW, MJF seized his opportunity by winning the Casino Gauntlet match and claimed the AEW World Championship at World’s End. In a thrilling four-way showdown, he overcame reigning champion Samoa Joe, as well as “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, to become the new titleholder.

The match began with high intensity, the champion initially in control until Page was knocked out of the ring following a moonsault from the top rope. Swerve Strickland and Page battled fiercely, with Strickland executing his signature Dead Eye. When Strickland attempted a house call move, Page countered with a lariat followed by a buckshot lariat. Samoa Joe interrupted the pinfall, reigniting the chaotic fight among all four competitors.

Page landed an Angel’s Wing on Strickland and nearly followed up with a pop-up powerbomb. Joe then locked MJF in a Coquina Clutch, but Strickland struck Joe with a house call to free his opponent. After a brutal exchange, all four men collapsed in the ring; MJF quickly got back to his feet and delivered a Canadian Destroyer on Strickland, though the pin attempt was broken.

Joe executed a Muscle Buster on Page, who kicked out before The Ops arrived at ringside. Hobbs and Shibata took down Strickland while Page was caught on the apron. Joe locked Page again in a Coquina Clutch, but Swerve Stomp saved Page. MJF later knocked Strickland off the top rope, and Page landed another buckshot lariat on MJF but was unable to secure a three-count. MJF retaliated with a low blow to Page and finished off Joe with a Heatseeker to secure the victory.
