AEW Champion MJF Reflects on Missing Out on the 2025 Dynamite Diamond Ring

2 Min Read

MJF, who could have ended 2025 as the AEW Men’s World Champion, did not win the Dynamite Diamond Ring that year. Previously the only wrestler to claim the ring, MJF’s streak was broken when Bandido defeated Ricochet for the ring on the Christmas Eve episode of AEW Dynamite, 34th Street. In a recent interview on Mostly Sports, MJF acknowledged Bandido’s win but emphasized that his past victories remain intact. He compared the ring to a Super Bowl ring, stating that Bandido’s victory doesn’t erase the many times he has won before, which he estimates to be around six times.

A notable change this year is that winning the ring now guarantees a shot at the AEW Men’s World Championship, with Bandido earning that opportunity at the Maximum Carnage event on January 14th. MJF expressed some surprise at this new stipulation, noting that despite winning the ring multiple times, he had never won the title itself.
