AEW’s Mike Bailey Stings from Jake’s Shocking Betrayal

2 Min Read

AEW wrestler Mike Bailey has expressed his disappointment with Jake Doyle (formerly known as Jake Something) for joining the Don Callis faction instead of teaming up with him and Kevin Knight. Although Doyle and Bailey previously teamed in DPW and made their AEW debuts by attacking Jet Speed, Bailey revealed on his YouTube channel that he was excited to reunite with Doyle but was let down when it didn’t happen.

Bailey said, “What really upsets me is Jacob Doyle, who used to be Jake Something. I thought what we had was unique. I believed we were a team and going to be a team.” He added that when he arrived in AEW after leaving DPW, he was eagerly waiting for Doyle so they could form a trio called Jetspeed, something creative like “Jetspeed Something” or “Something as fast as a jet.”

Bailey compared Doyle’s decision to join Don Callis’ group to Josh Alexander’s similar choice after joining AEW. After wrestling Alexander multiple times, Bailey had developed a good relationship with him and hoped he would join Jetspeed too. He feels Doyle chose the easier path by joining Callis’ faction, where he can rely on others like Andrade for support, rather than fighting with full passion like Jet Speed members do.

According to Bailey, Doyle preferred the security and camaraderie found in the Don Callis family instead of jumping into the challenging path with Jet Speed, comprised of newcomers who fight with all their heart since arriving in AEW. Notably, Doyle and Bailey had a successful tag team run in DPW and held the TNA/Impact Wrestling tag team titles for over 270 days.
