Did WWE Have a Surprise Championship Twist Not in the Original Script?

A WWE superstar recently revealed that some past championship changes occurred due to shifts in creative plans. Bayley posted a video blog from the Lodestone Women’s Wrestling Camp held in December 2025, featuring several WWE talents. In the vlog, Natalya highlighted Maxine Dupri’s progress in WWE, citing her August 11, 2025, Raw match against Becky Lynch as a pivotal moment. Natalya explained that although the original storyline didn’t intend such a turn, Maxine’s confident performance proved she was ready for bigger opportunities, which altered the creative direction.

Natalya said, “When you faced Becky for the first time, you absolutely nailed it. You might have been nervous, but you entered the match with confidence because you knew your role inside and out. That moment changed everything. I heard how the story was supposed to go, but it wasn’t in the plans. It’s an inspiring tale—if you stay prepared and positive, things can take a turn in your favor.” She also mentioned that Maxine currently holds the momentum that Rhea talked about earlier.

Maxine Dupri won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship from Becky Lynch on the November 17, 2025 episode of Raw and held the title during the Lodestone camp. She returned the championship to Becky on the January 5th, 2026 Raw and challenged her again on January 19th but lost after Natalya’s interference.
