Otis and Hiroshi Tozawa emerged victorious in a Fatal Four-Way match against The New Day, Los Americanos, and Americans Made, earning themselves the number one contender spot on Raw and a future opportunity to challenge for the World Tag Team Championship. Michael Cole noted that Jey Uso remained at ringside as his brother was absent due to “personal reasons.” The contest began with Kofi Kingston facing Bravo Americano, but Brutus Creed and Otis soon joined the fray. Although Tozawa was temporarily subdued by New Day, he quickly counterattacked. Bravo attempted an airplane spin on Brutus, but Tozawa executed a dropkick from the middle rope, taking down both opponents.
Otis took control, performing a caterpillar move followed by an elbow drop on Julius Creed. Tozawa landed punches on Brutus, Kingston, and Rajo, finishing with a German suplex on Rajo. After defeating New Day and the Creed brothers, Tozawa continued his assault by knocking out Kingston with a spinning heel kick. As Tozawa climbed the top turnbuckle, Grayson Waller tripped him while the referee was distracted by Woods. Otis retaliated by throwing Waller off the apron, and Jey Uso sealed the deal with a superkick. Otis managed to pit the Creed brothers against each other before teaming up with Tozawa and ultimately securing victory as Tozawa delivered a top-rope senton on Julius.
Otis previously held the tag titles alongside Chad Gable in 2022, while Tozawa is a former 24/7 Champion with 15 reigns and was the cruiserweight champion back in 2017. The Usos, their upcoming challengers, recently captured their ninth tag team championship last month.
Fan Take: This win by Alpha Academy marks a significant shift in the tag team scene on Raw, introducing fresh contenders to shake up the status quo. For WWE fans, this sets the stage for exciting new rivalries and showcases the evolving dynamics of tag team wrestling, potentially elevating the sport’s intensity and storytelling.
