The WWE Champion is set to go head-to-head with a notable AEW competitor for the very first time next month in Tomball, Texas. Brian Keith, a former New Texas Pro Champion and current AEW wrestler, will make his return to Wrestle Rave on February 7th, where he will face off against WWE ID Champion Cappuccino Jones. This historic matchup was announced by WrestleRave’s Jack Irene ahead of the event at 403 Eats in Tomball.
Brian Keith joined AEW in February 2024 and partners with Big Bill. Previously, Keith was known as “The Bad Apple” during his time in Chris Jericho’s Learning Tree, but he now wrestles under the moniker “The Bounty Hunter.” Meanwhile, Cappuccino Jones appeared on AEW Rampage in February 2024, teaming with Johnny Lions in a losing effort against The Young Bucks. As an independent wrestler, Jones later joined the WWE ID program and became a consistent presence on the Evolve wrestling scene.
Jones earned the WWE ID Championship by defeating Jack Cartweel in the finals of the GCW ID Showcase last August, becoming the first-ever champion. Recently, he defended the title successfully for the first time in the Netherlands, overcoming Ricky Sosa at PWG Live X on January 18th.
This highly anticipated match between two champions from rival promotions is expected to be a pivotal moment for both wrestlers and fans alike.
