AEW Dynamite Results (January 28, 2026): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens with commentary welcoming us as Rocky Romero descends into the ring for the first match of the night. Kenny Omega comes down to the ring next.
Single match: “The Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega vs. Don Callis Family’s Rocky “Azkar” Romero
The match begins with Rocky Romero jumping Kenny Omega, but Omega reverses. Omega then unloads on Romero. Omega then goes for a V-Trigger, but Romero avoids it. Romero then uses the referee as leverage to kick Omega down. Romero then drops Omega to the mat for a two count. Romero then corners Omega and hits a few lariat.
Omega then stops Romero with a high boot. Romero then counters with a snapdragon suplex and Omega hits Romero with a V-Trigger. Omega then hits a snapdragon suplex and follows up with a V-Trigger. Omega then hit Romero with a One-Winged Angel for the win.
The single match winner is “The Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega!
After the match, Tony Schiavone said Omega would be among the top four contenders for MJF’s AEW World Title. Schiavone then said that other players include “Hangman” Adam Page, Swerve Strickland, and Andrade El Hidro, and that one of these players will challenge MJF at the Grand Slam Australia. And Schiavone said the winner of Strickland and Andrade El Idro later tonight will face Omega on Dynamite next week.
Afterwards, Kenny Omega stated that he was feeling great right now, effectively pledging to regain the AEW World Title. Then Hangman Page interrupts him. Page has said that he, among several others, will be the next world champion. Later, Swerve Strickland comes out and makes similar claims. Omega then says he senses animosity between him and Strickland. Omega asks Strickland if he wants a fight, and Strickland agrees.
Don Callis then intervenes and says Andrade El Idro defeated Swerve Strickland and will follow Kenny Omega next week. Then, Karis also summons Hangman Page. When Don Callis says that the family will run AEW, Callis gets booed. Kenny Omega then chases Callis to end the segment.
Then we get a video of Kris Statlaender and Babes of Wrath. The Babes of Wrath agree to give the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship to Sky Blue and Julia Hart this Saturday at Collision, as long as they stay in the back tonight.
Jon Moxley then makes his way down to the ring for his next match of the night, followed by Ace Austin.
AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match: AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley of Death Riders vs. Ace Austin of Bang Bang Gang
The match starts with Jon Moxley kicking Ace Austin, then Moxley corners Austin and follows up with chops. Moxley then hits Austin with a right hand. Austin then tries to fight back and applies a side headlock. He then got a 2 count with a crucifix pin. After a back and forth, Austin dropkicks Moxley. The action then cascades outward. Austin then overpowers Moxley and they both return to the ring. Austin then works on Moxley’s knee to maintain control. Austin then applies an armbar on Moxley. Moxley then reversed the submission and got a two count.
Moxley then shoulder tackles Austin in the corner. Moxley then hits a superplex on Austin. Moxley hits a lariat on Austin, but Austin reverses with a clothesline. Austin then follows up with a leg drop on Moxley and hits him in the corner. Moxley then stops Austin with a clothesline. The two sides then engage near a waterfall. Austin then hits a hook kick on Moxley and shoves him into the mat for a two count. Austin then hits Moxley with another kick for a near fall. Moxley then stopped Austin with the Cutter and hit Austin with the Death Rider for the win.

After the match, Konosuke Takeshita’s music plays and he leaves the field. He then looked at Moxley and pointed to the Continental Champion belt, but Mark Davis and Jake Doyle snuck up behind Moxley and took him down.
El Cron then makes his way down to the ring for his next match of the night, followed by Mark Brisco.
AEW TNT Championship Match: The Conglomeration’s Mark Brisco (c) vs. Don Callis Family’s El Cron
The match begins with both men locking up and it goes back and forth until El Cron hits Brisco with an elbow. Brisco then returns and introduces a steel chair to the match. El Cron then stops Brisco and throws a chair at him, but Brisco avoids damage from the chair. Brisco then hits El Cron with a scissor kick over the ropes, sending El Cron to the floor. El Cron then traps Brisco on the apron for a reversal. El Cron then slams Brisco into the steel steps and kicks Brisco in the chest.
Brisco then tries to fight back, but El Cron continues to gain the upper hand. Then El Cron stomps Briscoe. El Cron then corners Brisco and takes him down with a boot. El Cron then hits Brisco with a Lionsault for a two count. Brisco then turns the tables on El Cron and hits him with a dive to the outside. El Cron then kicks Brisco, but Brisco unloads El Cron with a left jab. El Cron then hits a roundhouse kick that staggers Briscoe, before both men trade for a knockdown.
Both men then traded blows, with Brisco hitting El Cron with a Fisherman’s Bomb. Brisco then hits a Froggy Bow on El Cron, but El Cron kicks out at two. Brisco then hits El Cron with a Jay Driller, but El Cron stands up. El Cron then takes control of Briscoe. Then performs a diving foot stomp. Brisco then countered a portal bomb and rolled up Elkron for the victory.

After the game, Mark Brisco says, “Hell Yeah!” So Briscoe, not one to duck or dodge in the first place, returns to Texas on Saturday night and says that while he likes the concept of the TNT Open Challenge, no one will come because he’s tired of the Don Callis family. The lights then turn off and the heartbeat is displayed on the large screen. Then the lights go out again and it’s the “Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa. He is scheduled to take on Mark Brisco on Saturday. Ciampa makes his exit to loud cheers while Brisco looks worried.
Ciampa then descends into the ring amidst loud cheers. Ciampa enters the ring as chants of “Holy s—” ring out. Ciampa then told Brisco he would be coming to see him on Saturday, kissed Brisco and left the ring. Ciampa then jumped on the announce desk, looking at Briscoe, and announced it was his turn. Ciampa waves to Brisco as he heads home.
Renee Paquette then appeared backstage to welcome Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada. Okada says he didn’t think anything about the World’s End screwdriver. Okada then says he wanted to face Fletcher in the final, but didn’t mean to hurt him. Then Mr. Okada says, “I’m sorry.” Fletcher then says he accepts Okada’s apology. The two then shake hands.
AEW World Champion MJF then comes down to the ring. MJF fires a few shots at the fans before Brody King interrupts. MJF then called King “big and stupid”, leading to King charging into the ring. MJF then stated that he wanted to discuss it like an expert. And MJF says he needs to beat someone of note to win the title. MJF then says that King is after him, just like he was with Malachi Black. MJF then said that King is following in the footsteps of Buddy Matthews and is seriously considering his knee injury. MJF then despised King for following Bandido.
MJF then says that if King follows his example, he might be able to give King a makeover. MJF then fires multiple shots at King. King then replies that no one has to follow him. King then says that all the names MJF mentioned were his friends. King then announced that he would face MJF in an AEW World Championship Eliminator match next week and that if he won he would get a chance to face MJF at Grand Slam Australia.
Then we got a video package about the Young Bucks. So they put the entire tag team division on notice, stating that it was time to return to their roots.
Tecla then goes down to the ring for the next match of the night, followed by Chris Statlender.
AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Chris Statlander (c) vs. “The Toxic Spider” Tekla from Triangle of Madness
The match starts with both women locking up and exchanging some heavy blows. Thekla then rolls outside the ring, slowing things down. Statlander then chops her before Thecla can counter. Statlender then hits a leg drop on Thekla’s apron. Statlender then hits a delayed vertical suplex on Thecla to the floor. Statlander then catapults Thekla into the steel stairs. Statlender tries to enter the ring next, but Thekla comes out with a big boot. Tecla then follows up with a diving stomp to the floor. Thekla then sends Statlander into the stairs.
Thecla then grabbed Statlander by the hair and slammed him into the barricade. Back in the ring, Thecla gives Statlender a few near falls. Thecla then continues to maintain momentum and Statlender briefly fights back before Thecla traps him in the ropes. Statlender then sends Thekla into the turnbuckle and then takes her down. Statlander then hits Thekla with a Michinoku Driver and gets a two count. Thecla then kicks Statlander in the face, but Statlander knocks him down with a lariat.
Thekla then stops Statlander’s 450 splash. Both women then fight on the turnbuckles. Thecla then hits a spider suplex on Statlender. Tecla then follows up with a diving crossbody to the floor, but Statlander struggles. Chris Statlander kicks from cover. Thekla connects with Statrender’s spear. Both women then stand up. Thecla then spits on Statlender. Tekla then applies a submission and squeezes Statlender’s arm. Tecla then hits a stomp on Statlender and gets a two count. Statlander then counters another spear and kicks Thecla. Both women then fight back at each other. Statrender then hit Tekla with a Gut Wrench Powerbomb, earning him the victory with Stater Day Night Fever.

After the game, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron go outside to celebrate with Chris Statlaender. Megan Bain and Penelope Ford watch them from the entrance ramp.
He then heads to the rear with Don Callis, Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. Charis tells Takeshita that he needs to follow Fletcher’s lead and forgive Okada. Takeshita asks Fletcher if he has forgiven Okada and leaves.
We then get a vignette featuring Jack Perry as Ricochet’s next challenger for the AEW National Title. Then we’ll go with The Demand earlier today because Jack Perry is in custody. He then attempts to escape, but GOA takes him out as Ricochet tells GOA to catch him after dropping him off. Then they passed him through the table.
Mark Davis and Jake Doyle then go down to the ring for the next match of the night, followed by FTR.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax the Ax Harwood) (c) vs. Don Callis Family (Mark Davis and Jake Doyle)
The match starts with Cash Wheeler and Jake Doyle, with Doyle dominating Wheeler early on, then Mark Davis makes a tag. Wheeler backs Davis to the corner and teams up with Dax Harwood. Harwood and Davis then have a heated exchange. Davis and Doyle then dominated FTR at ringside, using Wheeler as a battering ram and sending him into Harwood. Davis then brings Harwood back into the ring and hits him with a chop. Davis then sends Harwood into the corner and gets a two count. Jake Doyle is then tagged in.
FTR then makes a comeback, but it’s short-lived. Davis and Harwood then trade chops. Harwood then hits some lariat but it has no effect. Davis then hits a jumping enzuigiri and follows up with a running lariat. Doyle then takes Wheeler down. Davis and Doyle then hit a splash on FTR in the corner. Wheeler comes in and nails Doyle to the apron. Harwood then hits Davis with a suplex, and Wheeler follows up with a splash for a two count.
Davis sends Wheeler out of bounds and puts a sleeper on Harwood. Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley, and Marina Shafir then appeared at ringside. Garcia then distracted the referee as Moxley hit Davis with the title belt. After that, FTR took advantage of the commotion and hit Davis with a shutter machine for the win.

Then we head to the backside where Renee Paquette is talking to Orange Cassidy and his focus is on Wheeler Yuta. Cassidy then compares Yuta from five years ago to Yuta now and asks who he is. Yuta then comes in and interrupts Cassidy. Marina Shafir comes in and grabs Cassidy by the hair. Toni Storm then enters and confronts Shafir. Then security comes in and breaks things up.
Swerve Strickland then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night, followed by Andrade El Idro.
Single match: Don Callis Family’s Andrade El Idro vs. Swerve Strickland
The match begins with both fighters locked up and several exchanges take place. El Idro then puts Strickland down with a side headlock. Strickland then shoves El Idro. Both then show off their athleticism and fight back against each other. Strickland then takes El Idro down with a hurricanrana off the ropes. Strickland then goes for a dive, but El Idro dodges it and slams Strickland into the steel steps. El Idro then flirts with a female fan at ringside, but is still in complete control of this match. Strickland then turns the tide with some strikes, but El Idro blocks him in his tracks.
El Idro then applies a rear chinlock on Strickland to tire him out. El Idro then decks Strickland and follows up with Tornillo. El Idro then hits Strickland with a standing moonsault for a two count. Then El Idro derails Strickland’s momentum with a big boot. Strickland then hoists El Idro onto his shoulders and hits him with a Death Valley Driver on the apron. El Idro then reverses with a back body drop over the guardrail. Both men then fall to the floor. Both men then managed to return to the ring by the count of nine.
After some exchanges, El Idro goes for a double knee attack, but Strickland only gets a count of two and responds with a house call. El Idro then drops Strickland off the turnbuckle with a hurricanrana. Immediately after, he follows up with a double knee attack in the corner, but only gets a 2 count. El Idro then hits a hammerlock DDT on Strickland, but again only gets a two count. Both then fire back at each other. Strickland then hit the house call again, but El Idro bit Aubrey Edwards. El Idro then hit a low blow to the back of the referee, followed by a message to Strickland to give him the victory.

We then go to the back and ask MJF what he thinks about Renee Paquette facing Brody King in an eliminator match. Then Kenny Omega comes in and says he’s one win away from facing him for the title. Omega then goes to shake MJF’s hand, but he walks away. Andrade El Idro stopped him and told him he wanted the world title. MJF then leaves the building and gets into his car, but is confronted by Hangman Page. MJF then got into his car and as Paige looked serious, he told the driver to go and the show ended.
