WWE Legends Pass the Torch: Classic Footage Shared with Today’s NXT Talent

2 Min Read

A WWE talent recently revealed that he has been sharing vintage tag team footage with the current NXT roster at the WWE Performance Center. Before joining AEW, Ethan Page was part of The North in TNA Wrestling, a team celebrated for holding the longest IMPACT Tag Team Championship reign. Although The North has since disbanded—with Page now in WWE NXT and Josh Alexander in AEW—Page is keen to keep their legacy alive. During an appearance on No Contest Wrestling, Page mentioned sending clips of The North’s top moves to his fellow NXT tag team wrestlers to inspire them, emphasizing his early creativity when devising tag team maneuvers using wrestling action figures during long road trips.

Page explained:
“Being in a tag team, it’s funny. Right now, I’m sending North’s top 30 moves to the NXT tag team because no one was doing what we were doing. I was just a kid in a car driving 10 hours with wrestling action figures so I could invent and create these tag team moves. We ended up pioneering a lot of techniques that were otherwise dormant. Now that I’m a singles competitor, I’m trying to pass on that creativity. This period has been a really enjoyable part of my career. I still have the IMPACT tag belts and the plaque for being tag team of the year two years in a row, so I’m very proud. It was an amazing chapter in my journey.”

Page also opened up about experiencing his first significant setback in front of a wrestling audience during the interview.

Fan Take: This insight into Ethan Page’s efforts to pass on his tag team innovations underscores how wrestling evolves through shared creativity, bridging generations of performers. For WWE fans, it highlights how NXT continues to be a fertile ground for nurturing fresh talent influenced by past legends, promising a dynamic future for tag team wrestling and the sport overall.
