The January 30, 2026 episode of Friday Night SmackDown was broadcast from the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is the final episode before the Royal Rumble, and WWE is looking to wrap up its preparations with a big showdown.
Sami Zayn won a four-way match in Saturday night’s main event, earning him the right to challenge Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship. On the eve of their Royal Rumble clash, Zayn and McIntyre will face off in what is sure to be a heated match for the championship.

Michael Cole welcomes us to the show. WWE Superstars’ public appearances in Saudi Arabia will be rebroadcast.
Gunther is shown arriving at the arena, followed by AJ Styles, Drew McIntyre, and Sami Zayn outside the venue.
A replay of Saturday night’s main event will also be shown.
As he heads to the ring, Cody Rhodes music plays. Fans are eating loudly, “Cody! Cody Rhodes!” He yells as he enters the ring and grabs the microphone.
Cody starts things off with his signature line. “So… what do you want to talk about?” Cody said she realized Jacob Fatu was not the person she thought he was.
Cody tells the crowd that he’s bleeding, and it looks like he’s more than ready for the Royal Rumble. He makes the obvious point: Where is Drew McIntyre on the eve of the Rumble? Cody reminds everyone that while Drew won the Undisputed WWE Championship, he may not realize that he also has the most important responsibility that comes with it.
Cody looks into the camera and speaks directly to Drew, saying there are kids watching this show. If you want to make SmackDown your own, Be the role model you say you are. But tonight? you are nowhere to be found.
Cody admits that it makes all the sense in the world for him to win the Royal Rumble for a third time. It would make sense for him to challenge Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. But it might not even be Drew. Because he’s facing Sami Zayn tomorrow night.
Cody has shifted gears and says he has often taken the road less traveled throughout his career. Randy Orton takes the mic and tells the people of Saudi Arabia that he loves them before getting down to business. He puts his hand on Cody’s shoulder and says everyone knows how he feels about him. They are not just friends, they are brothers.
Randy says he respects everything Cody has accomplished. He’s never been more proud than when Cody won, and he knows exactly how Cody felt when he lost. But the Royal Rumble is for everyone for themselves.
He warns Cody that he knows how dangerous a desperate Cody Rhodes can be…but nothing more dangerous than this. Viper chasing number 15. There will be no friends or brothers tomorrow night. Randy says he has no respect for Cody or anyone else in the ring. And if he had to, he wouldn’t hesitate to throw Cody’s ass over the top rope.
He finally reminded Cody: You’re not the only two-time Rumble winner.
Suddenly, Jey Uso’s music came on. Jay grabs the mic and jumps right in, saying he’s talking about winning three championships—But he’s trying to do it all in quick succession. Jey wins the Royal Rumble, enters WrestleMania, and declares he will exit as champion. Also.
Sami Zayn’s music hits and he heads to the ring. Sami Zayn started the promo in Arabic and got a great response from the audience. He then switched back to English and said that although he would like to continue speaking Arabic, he knows he will be in the ring with three of the absolute best, and since they are all talking about plans for the Royal Rumble, he will talk about himself.
Sami reminds everyone that he will face Drew McIntyre tomorrow for the WWE Championship. But for him, this is more than just a title match; it’s the culmination of that. Three big stories.
First, it’s a chance to finally become a world champion. Second, he has to face the harsh reality: Drew McIntyre beat him. 11 times in a row. He has never beaten Drew in a singles match. Rey hits a series of forearms, but Hayes catches him with a quick rollup for a near fall. Rey also fights back with a kick, but gets a near fall.
Rey hits another forearm, but Hayes counters with a series of flashy chops. Hayes connects with a back elbow and drops the leg for a near fall. He follows with a forearm and a hard kick, sending Rey into the turnbuckle.

Hayes follows up with a forearm and a chop, then jumps off the turnbuckle and hits a DDT for a nearfall. He went for a first 48, but Ray blocked it. Hayes immediately rounds it off with a sunset flip and gets a close two count. Rey counters with a rollup of her own and gets another near fall.
Rey then hit a jumping spin kick into the corner and climbed the turnbuckle, putting Hayes on top. He hits a chop and sets up for a muscle buster, but Hayes counters into an inside cradle and goes back for another near fall.
Hayes hits a back heel kick, but Rey responds with a swinging back heel kick of his own from the ropes. Hayes fires back with a kick and they both exchange kicks and fall to the mat.
Hayes hits a flashy chop, but both men charge forward and hit a flying clothesline, sending each other to the mat.
They slowly get to their feet and start exchanging forearms, but both struggle to stay upright as the fight drags on. The battle intensifies, and Hayes connects with a leaping elbow drop to get a near fall. Hayes lifts Rey onto the turnbuckle and sets him up for a superplex. Rey fights back with punches and a forearm to the back, but Hayes responds with a sharp back elbow. They continue to exchange strikes on top until Rey moves to the ring post and nails a double stomp to Hayes’ back. Rey follows with a double jump moonsault and covers, but Hayes kicks out at two. Kathy Kelly is backstage with Drew McIntyre. She brings up his title match and stacked Rumble lineup. Drew said some of his competitors are keeping quiet. He admits this Sami Zayn is different from the one he defeated 11 times, but Sami was also reckless in challenging him to an eight-man tag on the eve of the biggest match of his life. Perez recovers and hits Alexa with a forearm, then screams and hits a windmill attack. Perez kicks Alexa, whips her into the corner and chokes her on the ropes.
Liv chokes Alexa in the corner and tags back in for a hip attack. She follows up with a running knee and covers for a near fall.
Alexa fights back with punches, knees, and a dropkick. While the referee is distracted by Perez, Raquel trips Alexa from outside. Liv takes advantage of that and hits an enzuigiri for another nearfall.
Perez tags in and slams Alexa onto the apron, sending her back into the ring. She covered for a two count. Perez goes for a sunset flip, but Alexa spins around and hits a dropkick. Perez prevents Alexa from tagging out and hits an uppercut, sending Alexa into the ropes for a back hip attack.

Suddenly, Jade Cargill attacks Jordyn from behind. She told her, “You can’t win the Royal Rumble…and you definitely can’t beat me…” before Jordyn fired back.
The two get into a fight, and authorities rush in to separate them.
Axiom vs. Johnny Gargano
They lock up and Axiom quickly takes control with a wristlock takedown. Gargano quickly fires back with a side headlock, but Axiom escapes and applies a headlock of his own. Gargano escapes with a series of elbows, but Axiom fights back with a headscissors takedown. Gargano fights back with a wristlock and a kick. Axiom counters with a backslide and almost falls.
Gargano hits a hard chop, but Axiom fights back with a back elbow and armdrag. He follows up with a dropkick and gets a nearfall. Cody then tags in and climbs the ropes to drive an elbow into Bron’s arm. He keeps the pressure on with a wristlock, tags in Sami, and Sami adds an elbow off the turnbuckle. Cody tags back in and focuses on Bron’s shoulder.
Cody calls out Randy Orton and makes the tag, but before he can, Bron times Cody with a hard shot. Cody fights back with a boot, but Bron bounces back with a huge punch. warp speed Clothesline.
Bron kicks Cody and tags in Reed. Double Irish whips Cody and connects with a double shoulder tackle. Bron hits a standing moonsault for a near fall. Theory tags in and hits Cody with a stomp and kick.
Cody tries to fight back with punches, but Theory maintains control and lands a rear chinlock, transitioning into a side headlock as the crowd gathers behind Cody.
Bronson Reed tags in and continues the beatdown with hard forearms and a flurry of punches and kicks that wear Cody down. Logan Paul then tags in and drives many knees into Cody’s midsection.
Logan follows up with a gut wrench suplex and covers, but it only results in a nearfall. Bron Breaker teams up again and hits a powerful standing exploder suplex. He then choked Cody over the ropes and continued to apply pressure as Cody struggled to recover. Cody escapes a belly-to-back suplex from the Bron Breaker and gets to his feet, but Bron immediately drives him into the turnbuckle. As Cody tried to crawl to the corner, Bron sliced him again and threw him into the ringside barrier.
Cody gets a brief opening and sends Austin Theory into the announce table, but Theory quickly recovers and hits a double sledge into Cody’s back. Theory loads up the midsection with punches and stomps and hits a suplex for a near fall.
Logan Paul tags in and applies a waistlock, but Cody gets to his feet and fights back. Logan defeats him again. Reed tags Cody and throws multiple elbows, then hits a leaping elbow drop for a near fall.
Bron tags in and climbs onto Reed’s back, crushing Cody with a double splash and another close two count. Cody tries to contact Jay, but Bron stops him. Logan tags in and goes for a splash, but Cody moves out of the way.
Bron tags back in but Cody hits him with a suplex. Theory comes in and misses an elbow drop, and Reed quickly tags in. Reed knocks Sami and Jey off the apron and goes for a back senton, but Cody moves.
Cody finally teamed up with Randy Orton. Theory tags back in and Orton hits two explosive clotheslines. He ducked a shot from Theory and hit a snap powerslam. Orton sends Theory to the apron, sets him up, and delivers the sign. Hanging DDT (IEDDT) As the crowd erupts. Randy Orton falls to the mat and does his signature push-up, preparing for the RKO, but Logan Paul charges in from behind and punches Orton. Sami Zayn dives into Logan with a forearm and throws him to the floor.
Bron Breaker and Jey Uso get into a brawl and end up outside. Bronson Reed gets dumped off the top by Cody as Cody falls. Austin Theory throws Cody over the top to the floor.
Back in the ring, Orton connects with Theory for an RKO for a near fall. Jay hits a superkick on Logan. Bron comes back and crushes Jay with a double knee gutbuster. Cody drops Bron with a crossroads, but Reed flattens Cody with a body tackle. Sami hits Reed with a tornado DDT and a helluva kick…
However, before he could hit, Drew McIntyre dragged him out of the ring and the referee called for the bell.

After the match, Jacob Fatu’s music blared and he blindsided Drew with a brutal attack. Fatu followed with a suicide dive that sent Drew to the floor. Cody Rhodes responded with a suicide dive of his own, sending Fatu crashing into the steel steps. But Drew gets back up and throws Cody into the ring post. Drew goes for a Claymore but Sami Zayn cuts him off with a helluva kick. Sami looks at the Undisputed WWE Championship belt, but Cody Rhodes picks it up and looks him in the eye.
Suddenly, Bron Breaker charges in and attacks both Cody and Sami with spears, ending the show. Broadcast ends.
